Fun alloys

Featured Replies

As the fun is on the endangered species list I was wondering, should I sell the alloys or store them?

The reason I ask is, as numbers fall will it be a vehicle that would be worth more in the future, you know like old mk1 & 2 escorts, ect.

as I'm looking to just lower her and getting some banded rims soon, I was just wondering what ppl's take on it was. Ta

ive just sold mine, think there will always be some around for sale.

I don't think things like the wheels and Truckman tops will every really be in short supply as they are an "easily removed and passed on" piece of kit. Take the Truckman for example: There were less produced than there were trucks, but as the trucks slowly (and sadly) die out, the Truckmans die at a slower rate. At some point the number of Truckmans will be the same as the remaining trucks, so their "rarity" value ceases. The same for sets of wheels. When my Fun went, it went with a total of 7 (IIRC) alloys, 4 on the truck, 1 spare and 2 spare spares. The spare was from a warehouse clear-out in 2012: hadn't ever had a tyre on it. So there are still some great finds out there.

You now what's it's like, later you say oh I had a set of them and someone's like what you sold em, or they increase in value and you end up kicking your self later.

Bit like cosworth sapphire wheels had a set years ago, sold em cheap, now worth shed loads.

There are lots of Fun wheels about currently...as I guess people don't really put them on other Felicias as they are only 13s and yellow. I think there will be a market for them eventually but you've got to put a price on your storage space for several years perhaps?
