this is actually itut of a BMW E36 but you get the general idea of what i'm thinking for the fabia

I'm not sure a x brace would give you any benifits on the Fabia, as they usaully are fixed onto the floor where the cars rear suspension/diff mounts are bolted through the floor/shell.
You can see the tubular part on that bmw where there will be bolts going down into some part of suspension.

But, they do look much better and seeing as you can make it yourself I say go for it! :)

Bit gutted you've bought a diff :(  as was hoping you would be struggling for grip out of bends so I could atleast keep up with you out of bends!!!! :)

Well the rain held off today and managed to shoe horn the gearbox out on the driveway what a pita job. Practically everything got in the way of the box coming out, pipework, wiring, power steering lines. Its out now and on my work bench ready for stripping down

Awesome, sounds like a productive day :)

Yeah swore at it a couple of times, managed to pull it out and manoeuvre it out on my knees because i gave up with the trolley jack and soon found out it wasn't actually that heavy. Taking pictures as i go. Made a make shift engine support from some steel angle iron, some 1" square pieces of wood and some studding, does the job

How long did it take?

How long did it take?

Once i had the car jacked up and on stands and made the engine support around 4 hours had to remove the drive shafts, gearbox cups, dog bone mount, gearbox mount, gearbox mount bracket, starter motor, drop links, all gear linkage, boost pipes, air filter, tuck the rad pipes and PAS pipes out the way. Jacking it up is a meh because of the driveway being slanted and the RARB

Not really front end has too come off as the engine slides in because its too close to the chassis legs and the gearbox casing sits under the passenger side chassis leg so can't simply be lifted out. Would have be easier if it was on a ramp and not lying on my back

Ohh I forgot it was a 4 pot and a lot bulkier than a 1.2
