Can't believe this Dealer.............

Featured Replies

I've been looking for another motor for a while and I spotted one that fitted my bill on the Skoda used Car Website.

I phoned up the dealer to verify the price and milage as it would be a round trip of over 200 miles if I went to view. I know roughly what my car is worth as I've had it valued at a couple off local dealers.

I asked if there was any movement on the price and as told no as the car is priced to sell. My car is worth around £10.5K as a trade in but because the used car was priced to sell he offered me aroung 8k saying he could recoup some of the discounted price off my car.

Looking on the  skoda web site 11 Plate ( low milage, mines done 19500 miles) FL octavis VRS  are going for any think around the £12K mark If I went and paid cash for the car at the price stated he would be loosing money, so he says, but would still sell it.

So  why not give me £10.500 for mine and he'd make at least a grand if not more.

Dealer not really intrested in a sale so it's his loss

I managed to get 9k part ex last august on my Octy RS with 39k on the clock. I guess it's how the dealers play with figures. Its frustrating when they've got the car you want and won't budge on price.

Try another dealer or dare I say it WBAC.com

Last year I looked at swapping my mk2FL for the mk3 but the dealer would not shift on the p/x even though it was 3k less than the forecourt prices at the time.

At the end of the day, they know that someone will pay and do a deal.
