Featured Replies

Right so today I fitted a new fuel pump in a 1.9D however it would not start because the fuel pump is coded. I phoned up skoda they said yeah bring the car down the with decode it. Paid for recovery to get the pickup down there then after 2 hours they said there computers are to modern. Now I'm stuck with no car and can't work till sorted. I been told I can smash off the black code box on the fuel pump or just what do I do please help

Have you got old pump... swap boxes over.... I think you need vag com....

With vag com, it's immo 17, adaption 10, channel 0, read then write, then start her up.

i have swaped the black box over but not starting still cant tell if the new well 2nd hand new pump is a non worker

Ok, from the top, what happened, why did you change the fuel pump originally?

heavy breaking engine will cut out say on the motorway every 10 miles it will splutter/ lose power then gain power. on hard acceleration it will die then come back with more power then as well it will just gain power when im not accelerating. so looked into it hard and got told fuel pump

and they are right bitch to bleed, if you don't already have a squeezy bulb type primer somewhere, go get one, it will take ages to bleed thru the injectors so slacken them all off,

so you have changed, in order

the fuel pump

followed by the immob box,

did you have the key with the immob box?

personally I would just do away with the immob unit on the pump you could have it running by now.

possibly egr valve causing the fault to start with, just  replace the gasket with one without a hole in it made from an old coke can etc

i got the black boxes swaped over plus i would hope the garage would know what is going on with bleeding it because they are fully trained plus the egr is all ready blocked :) supposedly it is not ticking now

best bet is totally remove the immob, I think I pm'd you how a while back on how to ?

literally it is old diesel tech stuff with modern immob box attached so once the stop is open it has to run IF it is timed up correctly....

step 1, get immob totally removed from pump, dont worry about the box underneath. then once that is done see if it still doesn't start due to timing etc

Okay so garage got it running with old pump. They said they made the solenoid go so that why it was not running when they put the old one in. How can I tell if the second hand pump works? Plus is there an aftermarket up rated fuel pump I can fit?
