Car Wrap

Featured Replies

How much would I be looking at for a full wrap? Fancy a real strong yellow wrap

Depends on the company and quality of the material.

I'd say £500 at the budget end to £1500 at the top end.

This was £1700.

That's the type of yellow I want, to what extent is the wrap? And how strong is it stone chip wise? Do you wash it like a normally 'metal' car ?

Pw pro round my way are the titties but there prices will reflect that, there are cheaper options out there but again there work will reflect that.

From what I hear you wash as normal and it's pretty durable.

I'm pretty sure the GTR was done by PW Pro second time around

Yes, it was done properly by PW Pro after a second rate company farmed the work out and the car was done poorly/scratched.

You will get spots of the colour underneath showing through if you get any decent sized stone chips.

It's not a stone chip guard type material, which is clear.  It's just a thin coloured film.

They did the whole car including in the door shuts.

I was quoted £1900+vat for a average estate car recently in dark grey colour.  Apparently it only lasts 3-5 years.

I'm a professional vehicle wrapper, and my vrs is wrapped.

I'd be charging 1200 for this job, mine is wrapped in avery supreme, there's only 2 or 3 manufacturers I'd work with, 3m, avery and hexis, there the best vinyls out there, again, prices may vary dependant upon material, finish and level or work required.

My prices start from £100 for door inserts, per door, due to their time and complexity.

You will gain good protection from stone chips unless your racing a gritter, but GENERALY speaking, you'll find that your vinyl would suffer very little from chips with daily driving,

The 3 suppliers of vinyls above all quote a 5 yr life span, and guarantee against failure, IF, the vehicle has not been subjected to paint work other than from the vehicle manufacturer, AND if the company fitting the vinyls have passed the relevant fitting courses.

Company's who haven't passed the relevant courses, can buy and use the products and may be very good, but if they haven't passed the course, the warranty will be from the company and not the manufacturer.

I've stripped Ferraris that have been wrapped for years and still look like new.

The only other thing to bear in mind is your paint, factory paint is the best to work with as it tends to be the strongest, and the worst is smart repairs, as most owners don't realise that they have had them until the vinyl rips the smart repair off the panel.

As an example, if you have had a rear door sprayed, and I wrap your front door, the vinyl will over lap onto the wing and rear door, I fit and trim the door, and remove the excess vinyl, the standard front wing is ok, and the rear door has all its lacquer lifted as it's had a smart repair.

The problem lies when they blow the panels in, I.e the edges of the panel, and this is the most important part as it's where the vinyl needs to grip. Stretch a panel, fit it, trim to edge, re heat, vinyl moves and pulls paint away with it.

I'm not trying to scare you but its just something to watch out for.

Any questions, feel free to drop me a message mate.
