Paint Coating

Featured Replies

Hi,

In early July, I expecting delivery of my new Skoda Superb L&K Combi (2014) with the following extra options:

Panoramic Roof

Electronic Boot 553 PK6

Rear Assist Drowsiness 52 PKH

Midi Interface 172 UF6

Hill Hold 102 PAR

Variable Boot Floor 256 PK5

Sun Visor (dual/split)

I have organised to have it detailed and coated with Opti-coat .. http://www.opti-coat.com/

However, the garage sales man had raised a query that he is getting checked out with Skoda. "Will this invalidate the paint warranty?"

We are waiting on a reply from Skoda, but they are slow in replying to queries. Dose anyone have experience of this?

opti-coat is brilliant - just make sure the paint is properly polished first as you dont want to lock the swirls under the finish.

Its just a product that actually does what the crap the dealers try and sell you claims to do - its a paint treatment that actually works. I had the first samples of it in the UK a few years ago and my old Saab 9-3 convertible was the first car treated with it in the UK. 2 years later I sold it and the opti-coat was still working like day 1 :D

I was offered this, but rejected it. Went instead for the 3M Venture Sheild paint protection film, had the front done [full bonnet, wings, bumper, lights, A pillars, mirrors, and across the top of Windscreen, as well as the top of the boot sill]. Cost a little more, but won't have the problem with stone damage, then a Life Shine over the rest.

Here's the link.

the 3m protection looks a great system: there are no dealers in Ireland though
