Hello All,

So I have the below error on my Octavia VRS MkIII, i have cleared the code on numerous occasions however it always comes back.

The only change I made was on 55-Headlight Range byte 6, i changed 00 static cornering light inactive/not installed to 04 static cornering light according to SAE J582.

Original long coding: 03DE02003F000000

Coding after change: 03DE02003F000400

Once this was changed i got the warning message on the dash so changed the byte back to 00 static cornering light inactive/ no installed and cleared the fault.

The fault just comes back straight away.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is there anything else ticked in byte6?

Sometimes “00” is a mask hiding the true coding,

if nothing else is ticked (check the binary code is also all zero’s as well) then it is unlikely to be a mask.

Whenever you make a coding change on mk3 in module 55 xenon range you will always get this error - its normal

You then just need to do a basic setting adaptation to recalibrate them - the fault will disappear and all will return to normal.

It's in basic settings:

Step 1 - basic headlight setting

Step 2 - Aknowleged basic setting

Hi Guys,

Did anyone manage to get a vcds security code for module 55 Headlight range basic settings? I'm struggling with coding the new control unit (car crash and unit replaces) and i need to reset to basic settings. When i hover over the code it doesn't show me the code as it does on the other mofules...     Octavia VRS 2014
