You really need one? How long for? And where are you? I can ring retailers and ask for you, they prefer it coming from us and I lie fabulously well...

Had a go in Paul f's last night... :D :D :D :D

Rob.

And I prefer Bombay Sapphire or Gordon's, but thanks anyway

*staggers off with the booty*

Well, let's say until February? And if you could get the retailer to valet my fab while i'm not using it... ;)

Could be difficult... I was thinking more a few days!

something for those 38 deg C temps perhaps?

I like Friday silliness.

I need to go home tonight and have GIN, and not spare the measures.

It's all the fault of you lot.

If it makes you feel any better, I've just survived the 1.5 mile drive home and now have a cold beer next to me...

Oh you total... *expletive deleted*

Ok - but I don't have any chairs, so am currently sitting on the subwoofer from my home cinema set-up...

And no, it's not connected ;)

You've warped my fragile little mind...

Hmmm, southpark fan by any chance?

I really must buy or "borrow" some chairs from somewhere this weekend... this is not a comfortable arrangement!

On the point of courtesy car's -- this really is a very sore point from the dealers point of view....

we currently run 15 courtesy car's ranging from base A2's upto quite High spec A6 Saloon's & Avant's -- we don't charge for them,we always supply fuel(at least 100 miles) we don't charge excess or expect our customer's to arrange insurance, the car's are cleaned regularly(usually every couple of days) and are checked over for levels/pressures at least once a week.

All we ask is that they

  • Don't Smoke
  • Don't carry pet's
  • Do Replace the Fuel
  • Pay any parking / speeding / congestion fines.

What do we get in return from our customers - GRIEF

We regularly have to replace fuel that hasn't been -- including 1 guy who did 600 miles in one day! - car came back on vapour.

They are constantly getting knocked

Always stuff gets nicked from them(books, lighters etc)

The wheel's get battered, people leave disgusting things in them -- the list includes -- and apologies if you have a weak disposistion -- a used tampon, wrapped loosely in a crisp packet,a used condom stuffed inside the service book,a soiled nappy left to rot in the boot ..... and the list goes on.

''Borrow''? Should we all keep a close eye on our furniture this weekend? ;-)

South Park used to rule but sadly, like Red Dwarf, it got same old, same old after a while. Cartman still a hoot though.

I might have to stoop to actually buying some cheapies.... grrrrr

Dave, you have said it all- thanks for the dealership perspective on this issue. Not everyone treats someone else's car with respect, quite often they are treated appallingly- I've heard some shocking stories about courtesy cars. I have several people who are barred from having courtesy or hire cars because they've returned them in such a state, covered in dirt, dog hair, sweets stuck on seats, no fuel, dinks in the bodywork, broken glass, rubbish like Dave described left in the car, and one man who wheelspun the car he'd been loaned off the forecourt, and promptly blew a tyre 125 yds down the road.

So guys, please- if you get one, treat it nicely- it's for your own benefit.

It's not only the state the cars come back in -- it's the problem of then finding another car for the next user! -- we can't send cars out with no spare or full of McDonalds rappers -- and there are only so many cars available to us -- so someone bringing a car back in sh@t state, means that we get down marked when they are followed up---where you given a courtesy car? -- YES but I had to wait while they sorted it or YES but it was in Sh@t state -- this effect our satisfaction score -- which effect's my WAGES

The cost's involved for running a single courtesy car are huge -- people would not believe how much -- why can't they treat the car as they would there own -- I'm damn sure they would not leave tampons/condoms/nappies in there own car - or expect to find such items if loaned a car.

We would ban some of our customer's - but unfortunatly Audi's policy is that everyone is entitled to a loan car -- only driving ban's can stop this......a ridiculous posistion.

there now I feel better for that....rant finished. :D
