Featured Replies

my baby has gone in for a couple of items to be rectified and i have been given a 1.2 fab, i am sorry but what an awful engine very noisy at high a road and m way speed little acceleration unless it is being reved to 5000+ the car is disgustingly filthly i just had to hoover it out and jet wash it i think this is the garage telling me that i am not a valued customer (see previous thread about my fab) oh well looks like i have to go up to carlisle in it on monday if mine not back not going to be fun:mad:

Hmmm - This is the first bad review of the 1.2 I've seen, and coming from (no offence) an 1.4 8v owner. I guess it really must be one of the most underpowered cars around. :(

Its a sad state of affairs when garages can't even keep their courtesy cars in good order - I'd bloody well write them out a valeting bill to make some kind of point... :D

But courtesy cars are workhorses, they rarely get touched by anyone at the garage between loans. I'd rather they charged less for servicing and let the courtesy car be dirty rather than them pay someone to keep the courtesy car clean and charge me for it. :D

True, Rob - but how often does that happen? :D

Although the last time I used a courtesy 1.3 Felicia from my dealer it was in pretty good nick. ( and it was for warranty work too. :D )

True, but the garage needs to present a certain image to its customers, which in this case they clearly haven't!

Maybe I've just been lucky, but the loan cars I've had (Felicia, Fabia and Octy) from my dealer have always been spotless. Empty of petrol though, but you can't have everything!

I don't know...seems a bit rude asking to see their accounts when I go in... :D

But do they on a courtesy car? Would you really stop using a garage for servicing if the courtesy car was dirty? The fact you're getting something to use at all is a big plus!

dirty scruffy ok that is acceptable but the condition of this car was disgusting cat or dog hairs over the back seats food ground into the front seats it stinks and looks as if it has been used for rallying and the hand brake barely works

My dealer now runs a free pick-up service with ECC areas (exeter city council) - which I luckily work just within. This was due to insurance costs, and it was cheaper for the garage to employ a pick-up driver who is covered under employer's insurance. Courtesy car now costs extra

Like I said, it's a courtesy car... :D

i have already found that 5000 in 1st equates to around 40 so is 60 possible?

hehe, rob, remind me not to let you near mine!

:D

But yours isn't a courtesy car Ian, even though it is dirty enough... :p

Rob.

saucer of milk........

Courtesy cars are also a privilege, not a right. Think yourself lucky they supplied one at all!

Well, that is true, LL... which is why I don't have any quibbles sticking some petrol in.

And - naturally - driving the loan car with the upmost care :D

Sorry, I've just had a row with someone about the lack of a courtesy car even though he just turned up at the garage this morning with no warning! He wants to know why I won't authorise a hire car... tht'd be because it looks like you've messed the car up yourself sir, by riding the clutch... grrrr.

TFI Friday, indeed.

With respect, we could also use the same argument when giving our business to a dealer :)

When my vRS has been in i've been loaned a Fabia, both times with the 1.2 3 cylinder engine, ( sounds like a moped !! ) ,,

I was impressed with the car and engine... As I have to travel between Stoke and Leeds, it can keep up with Motorway traffic

even at normal;) cruising speeds, it takes inclines ok for such a small capacity motor,, true the loud pedal is usually mashed into the carpet but its fun to drive....

The cars from my dealer are usually clean and running on fumes!!

Of course, and most dealers are happy to help- but it irritates me when I get calls whingeing about courtesy cars that have been supplied at cost to the retailer and quite often at short notice. Courtesy cars don't form part of the warranty, they are a perk. Hire cars the same.

Note to self: Don't mention courtesy cars to LadyLoki ever again..... :D

 You don't find out these things without mentioning them once. Then it's just a case of making a [mental note] for the future. :D

I will happily sort out a car for any of you lot though- just use the code- 'We have gin.'
