Digital MPH display - completed

Featured Replies

Have you got the mpg set to US gallons or UK gallons? There's an option for it in the maxidot setup somewhere, I stumbled across it the other day when setting up the kph and travel mode for the lights for my continental holiday 😁

Not sure what you mean?

Do you mean you'd like to correct the fuel consumption? If so, it's an adaptation channel: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Instrument_Cluster#Channe_003:_Consumption_Correction

Whenever you add mph digital display you need to to change back to UK gallons in maxi dot. This is a non maxi dot car, so just seeing if anyone has had a work around yet.

Oh - it's still probably an adaption channel.

Looking at an old adaption map for my cluster, it's probably some of these that need tweaking:

(1)-Units adjusted-Temperature,°C
(2)-Units adjusted-Distance,miles
(3)-Units adjusted-Speed,Miles per hour
(4)-Units adjusted-Pressure,bar
(5)-Units adjusted-Volume,gallons (UK)
(6)-Units adjusted-Time,24h
(7)-Units adjusted-Date,dd_mm_yy
(8)-Units adjusted-Consumption,Miles per gallon (UK)

How do I get to these particular settings in vcds? I'm in the same boat (non maxidot) and am stumbling at the same place. Need to back to UK gallons

From memory, it should be singing similar to this:

- start vcds

- select control module

- choose 17 instruments

- select adaptions

There should be a list to choose from, you're looking for something similar to 'units adjusted consumption'. Once you select it, you should be able to choose 'miles per gallon (UK)' from the options.

The exact wording may be different.

You're always a great help. Cheers @langers2k

I'll have a play about tonight.

Just to update,

I just had a go and I couldn't even get the Digital Speedo to display on a 2013 yeti using the Australia trick, never mind overcome the US MPG problem!

Never assume anything.... !

I've posted something in the VCDS subforum, hopefully I've just missed something simple.
