Shame you don't want a Fiesta as my ST-3 will go in a month or two... under 6 months old with 5,000 miles.  Cheapy cheap. ;)

Fancy swopping it for a 2013 plate VRS, only uses a little oil?

Could be the first documented one on here??? And that's more important than real life! :-p

  • What price range, I don't recall setting one?   and as I am looking for a load lugging estate, the Mk3 is the only one up for discussion, with a small spend on some good brake pads and fluid, some t

You have almost sold it to me. But sorry i can only offer a Bag of Beans.

So best get it up in the 'For Sales;  as is.

A car that might suit someone that can get a good one and already well sorted.

No.

1) sorry it does read a bit like an advert, not the intention.

2) How big is the bag of beans, it may yet constitute a better offer than expected trade in! :D

3) Some of the above characteristics like the braking will be severely reduced when when a large number of the mods including the now sold Brembo's come off the car at the weekend.  All that will remain will currently be the engine mount, suspension and map.

They are Magic Beans.

Since we are Freedom Members,  can you say what a 'Buy Now' price might be as it sits today?

EDIT,

sorry, missed the Brakes sold, etc.

So a 'Buy Now' price next week.

I can't George as I have already given my word on sale of the Brakes, RARB, Intake and Spacers to other members.

Sorry, I would have genuinely loved to see the car go as is, but never counted on the possibility of interest.  That is my mistake.

But... MAGIC beans !

If it allows you to get the price you want on the fabia as is, then don't worry about not selling your stuff as other parts will come up.

Agreed. ^^^

I may be a circling Vulture, but I have a heart. :-)

Great of you to offer guys and a lovely gesture, but not necessary.

Bob I will see you on Friday and thanks for playing delivery man for Ally

If the choice was between T5 and Focus ST and SWMBO decided T5 is out of the question, why are we still discussing it then? :D

If you do not mind me asking, what is your budget?

Because I'm not going to leave myself without options and I haven't even begun to start test driving cars yet, I've never driven a T5, New Focus ST or Yeti, I'd have to be a bit simple to commit to what I am going to do next without having a clue what that is.  Plus test drives are the fun bit and I will report back on my findings.

In short - flexible. :D

More than anything I want to feel I am getting a car that meets my needs and is value for what I would pay for it.

I don't see my spend being above 15k, but you never know

You can sleep in a T5. Can't do that in a Focus.

A T5 will hold its value too...

And... it's a T5...

Can you tell I like T5s?

I like when you can sleep in and out of the back,

& if someone never really gives it a rest about, 'we should have bought an Estate Car', they get their own bed.

( A drive away Awning-Tent might be quite a bit cheaper though.)

It was a jesting comment, hence big smile at the end ;)

There's plenty of excellent second hand motors on the second hand market or you are buying new?

Lovely Superb Estate within budget

I know mate, I'm just a little touchy that I can't take on a T5 project as I think that would probably have been what I would really have liked to do the most, plus if I took that to the track I would be toe to toe with Richard in the "what's that doing on track" stakes

Although much slower :notme:

I'm not sure about the Superb, I think I would save that for when I am the other side of 40.

I think those are the two big contenders with a Mk2 FL Octy vRS 2.0tsi a distant 3rd.

the missus has stated categorically that I will be disowned if I bring home my favourite which is a T5 Sportline, apparently she doesn't like the idea of being driven around in a 'Van'!

Get her to drive it quick then she'll want one!

Today has me controversially thinking maybe a petrol Octy Estate is what I am really after.  Comes with a well trodden path for tuning the 2.0 litre VAG Petrol lump and is capable of good power at Stage 1 only.  Stay a 'proper' member of the Brisky family and have lots and lots of useful info on here for tinkering.

Really need to get out in one to assess the drive and handling.  If this is the let down I fear it might be then it will be consigned to the bad ideas shelf.  Also want to check motorway road noise as this I was surprised to see gets criticised a lot in the sub forum and is one of the drawbacks of the Fabia I want to move on from.

Currently eyeing a white 2011 Estate, that will come with the added Q car bonus of being able to pass for a Taxi driver or the police. :D

Also will be trying to get out in a Focus ST estate this coming week, sadly all of the bargains I have been looking at have been snapped up sharpish.

Shows my age or what ;)

3 series beemers are in that price range as well

I think my problem is I don't really want a middle ground car.

I am looking for something with a genuine performance edge or something that dares to be different (Green Mk2 Fabia vRS for example covers both bases)

The 3 series available in my price bracket don't really do either of the above unless I consider particularly high milers which I have never really done before, or want to do now.

Here's a curve ball

Seat Altea XL Freetrack - It's VAG, 4x4, bags of space, choice of 2.0 litre 170bhp diesel or 200bhp petrol, some of the looks of Skoda Scout models, basically the Leon FR interior, and available in yellow ;)

For some reason I think my next car won't be a VAG one, the VW myth has well collapsed for me. Although I may stay on the German side...

Same here too, although a few years away. I can't kick the urge to get something from the Broverian area of Germany....

Sure enough, I'd like to be able to keep the vRS for another 5 years (hopefully).
