Leather seats cleaning

Featured Replies

Any recommendations to get rid of marks left on the brown perforated seats of an L&K caused by some sort of liquid?

Think it may have been water or diluted orange juice?

I've used auto glym leather care cream on my black leather elegance seats, seems to clean and reinvigorate the leather, doesn't smell great though

Are the marks simply where the perforation are? If it is I think your find it is where the leather has been perforated and the colour is lighter in the holes as the lighter brown is now darker compared to the remaining holes.

I had this when I treated the leather. Solution if it is is to "treat" the remaining areas that have holes.

If not the above please disregard this self distructing message.

weak washing up liquid in water.

cloth only damp or you will have wet seat foam (dry with seat air cooling)

gently wipe till gone.

+1......I find the cleaning products tend to leave a smell make the seats squeaky

Just dont use anything oil based as these days leather seats are actually a simple thin veneer over plastic, so oil based stuff stays in the surface and makes them attract more dirt than before. Use water based products instead - ideally a dedicated water based leather cleaner and there are loads of those about. Forget all the crap about 'feeding' leather and stopping them drying out - if you were dealing with the amazing Connolly hide seats of a RR or AM then fine but modern standard leather is nothing like that and often has a high % of manmade 'leatherette' in it anyway!

I just use Dr Leather wipes to clean and then Gtechniq L1 Leather Guard to help protect against die transfer.
