Noisy Wind at high speeds

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was driving my car on the highway and whenever I went over +/- 100kph (+/-60MPH) I hear the wind sound very high and noisy as if I have a gap in the driver's window. I tried to open close the window couple of times but no good. I read its the same problem on the Passat and some VWs does anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks,

Mohamed

Never had it myself. Are all the door seals in tact?

If the noise  comes from the A pillar it might be the plastic element outside at the bottom of the windscreen.

Try to bend it and if you are lucky the noise will go away.

Thanks, I will check mine and will let you know

It is a known problem with the Octavia II. Read my post below.

Thanks, I am not sure I fully understood what you mean or if its the same pillar that was mentioned above?

Yes & totally different solution. On the Octy 2 it was the door seals ( mine had that problem & several attempts by dealers to fix it failed). The noise on the Octy 3 seems to come from the plastic strips at the base of the windscreen on the outside adjacent to the A pillars. Some are tightly fittings but some there are gaps between them & the screen. As a check put a strip of tape to cover any gap there is & see if that stops it. If it is try to push them tight to the windscreen.

Beeso's got an Octavia III not II. Totally different car.

Oops. Sorry! I will delete my earlier posts to try and avoid confusion.
