Orange is the new Black

I like the idea of an Orange car it would remind me of my first motor ever

which was an Orange Mark 2 Escort.

Trouble is, my wife is a ginger and I'm not sure she could take all the stick

from all her little brothers and sisters....

And parked next to the yellow one on the drive every insect in town will be heading

our way to do whatever the hell it is they do when they land on bright coloured cars.

They seem to quite like the green of my bike as well....

Nice car, is it a 5 pot?

Very much like the car, and same reasons I stayed with the Briskoda Forum, How are you finding the Focus then?

The Focus is a real nice drive. I thought that 260bhp through the front wheels only would be a problem, but its ok. MPG, whats MPG? hahaha. In all honesty it's not that bad, on a run I can see 32mpg, however sat in traffic it drops to around 24mpg and driven hard I see 16mpg. I didnt buy it for the Mpg though.

When I was looking to buy one originally I wanted Sea Grey or Black. After viewing this on a sunny day (in South Wales it's rare, so I took it as a sign!), it made up my mind. Also with it being an Electirc Orange you know it's an ST, other colour ST's look alot like a normal Focus. I like you was also reminded of the old school escorts.

Yep 5pot engine, the noise is so addictive. Very tuneable too. Up to 500bhp, if you are willing to throw money at it.

Best colour for a car, particularly on the ST. :)

I also started with an orange Ford - though at 55 HP my Mk 1 Escort was a little slower...

Yep Volvo derived engine. Currently using Eibachs on standard dampers and the ride isn't crashy or bouncy at all. I may go for B8 Dampers in the future.

The sound is incredible, especially with a deresonated exhaust, you get a few pops and bangs. I don't have any videos to hand although there are some on my instagram, if you're into that kind of thing.

I am sure you can get the S-max with a 5pot engine too.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Yes you can!! And if I get my promotion my plan is to buy one and make a load lugging racer!

Love the ST Focus. Also love the sound of the RS. I'm on holiday at the minute and I've seen a few of them round here. They sound epic!!

That pic was taken just after I picked it up. The salesman gave me £60 cash to put in as it was on the red when I picked it up. In all honesty it's not as bad as people make out, don't get me wrong it's no Fabia Vrs in the MPG side of things. :D

Nice colour. Nice car.

Think I went too conservative with my Blue Fiesta ST.

Thanks Rich. PB is a lovely ccolour when all glossy and clean!

Great spec on yours too :) bet it shifts

Yes it shifts! Since the 3" downpipe the turbo seems to boost harder and quicker. Induction, Catback and a Remap should see me clear 300bhp....then I'll need a clutch..... :notme:

A few people on STOC.com have taken their St's to over 600bhp. ££££££££££?!

I have to say I've never understood this.

It's a front wheel drive car and a very capable one.

But how much of that kind of build is for bragging rights over being able to use the power.
