  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

I'd almost forgotten about this thread lol. Can't believe it's still going ;-)

Yes apparently you can still buy the M135i!

I signed up for the Deezer in car streaming jobbie recently and it works really well. It uses the cars in built 4G sim card and you pay a small premium for the data you use (about £5 a month). I simply sort out playlists on my pooter and they appear by magic in my car. Nice :)

All this modern technolark!

Does it work for other services as well - Google Music, Spotify etc?

You get a choice of Deezer or Napster in the UK. I think the American market gets alternative streaming services. The car downloads the first 3 or 4 tracks and then updates subsequent tracks to give you a 2 to 3 track buffer in case you go through a poor signal area. BMW also uses Vodafone for it's sim cards.

You know you might come back :D

There's still life in the old girl yet Tom

Autocar M140

They don't go into much detail, but one of things I read somewhere else, was the fact that some of the ratios, especially first, have been raised on the 8 speed. Might calm things down a bit and give you a chance of a clean getaway when pulling away from rest :)

Apparently they had done some modification to the back axle Tom, it is now allegedly the same as the M240i and has some sort of anti jiggle thingie fitted (lots of bits in an exploded diagram I saw on the Baby Beemer site). The knock on from this, sadly, is the old M135 MPE doesn't fit easily as the shape for the new one is slightly different. On a positive note. TRL is doing this for The New Base Price deal from TRL is M140i 3 Door Manual, in AW, no options. deposit £500 then 47 x £299 plus GFV £13,306. Based on 8K miles PA.

APR 4.9%

better than BMWs £349/£349 offer

I have to say that in a year or so I might be seriously tempted to opt out early and grab one of the last of the proper 1ers.

Very good deals! I'm also tempted with an M140i, it's just the JCW is still putting huge smiles on my face so not quite ready to move on yet. Next year maybe :-)

I can see why you would stay with the Mini :) I'm probably out of neg equity now, but would have to inject a little bit for a deposit, plus around £1,500 for Deezer (in car), MPE (fitted) and a full Detail with Modesta. Maybe next year, but there again, I have a service pack so is it worth it? it would be nice to grab one of the last ones on a top deal (and hopefully improved spec) just before they go to FWD.

We'll miss them when they are gone, in same way people are missing the 6 cylinder Cayman/Boxster now it's gone all Subaru on us. Steve Sutcliffe sort of summed it up for me when he did a video road test of the new 4 cylinder Cayman. It's a better car than ever, but somehow, something is missing. For me a 4 cylinder engine and FWD just wont give the me that special feel that my Babybeemeer does :(

I continue my quest to persuade you back to the fold with this one sir :)

Autocar test of M240i :)

Although they say there are no suspension changes, the Babybeemer site has exploded diagrams of a new rear suspension mounting jobbie. I think the question had been been raised as to whether it was possible to retro fit it to the x35 generation or even if it was worth doing.

Think BMW fan  and businessman youtuber ,Joe Achilles is out to help his salesman buddy, by  promoting and  shifting stock at his dealership of M135i /M140i

Good luck Joe.

How is the JCW - tuned variety, going these day, been out on anymore  track days in it lately.

JCW is all good, still enjoying it so no plans to change at the moment haha.

Not been out on track in it since Brands Hatch last year but I'm taking it to Castle Combe for the Mini Action Day in September where it will do a couple of sessions.

To be honest all my focus has been on my Clio track car recently. I've been enjoying doing bits and bobs to it and that seems to have taken away the urge to swap or mod our other cars! Been to Castle Combe twice this year in the Clio and taking it to Mallory Park in a few weeks then Snetterton in November which I'm really looking forward to.

Joe doing some subtle improvements to his M135i

Dan Prosser ( now of Autocar) is going to do the conversion on a 30000 mile BMW 135i, should be an interesting project to follow.

Just watched the review Joe Achillies has posted about his Motech upgrades. He's chuffed with the difference it has made, worth a watch.
