  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

I'd love to mate but just realised I am going away on holiday that day so doesn't look like I'll be able to go :-(

Collected my new M135i this morning and haven't stopped grinning from ear to ear since. What a machine! The performance is breathtaking and the noise from the 320bhp straight-six is just sublime. Won't be missing my 120d anytime soon.

The new beast will be sharing our driveway with our Fabia vRS Estate which mainly gets used by SWMBO and for baby-carrying duty whilst the M135i will ferry me to work and be my toy.

Some pics for you:

Tom,

Very nice motor.

Enjoy the new wheels!!

That looks lovely. Exhausts look a little small to me, but the interior. Wow :)

Looks nice but not a fan of BMW. yes I've driven 2 m sports, and came away thinking "meh" rather than racing to buy one.

Yes you need exhausts like these  20140718_162905.jpg

Very nice, you must be minted

Haha yeah love those pipes!

I wouldn't say I was minted but I do work hard (imho anyway lol!) so it's nice to enjoy the fruits of that from time to time. The M135i is a relative bargain really. Base manual models can be had for around £25k with current levels of discount, so in the same ballpark as the Octy 3 vRS. :-)

Well thats why I didn't buy a mk3 , mind you,I paid 23k in 3 years for both girls at uni for their rent !

Hey, very very nice!

DCT box in these?

Hey, very very nice!

DCT box in these?

Cheers mate. No DCT in this, instead it gets the ZF 8- spd auto. Very nice box tho! Silky smooth when cruising about but ferocious changes when "on it". Feels very much like a dual-clucher.

Ah ok yeah, heard good things about that box!

My dct can be a bit clunky in auto, but savage in semi set to 6 aggressiveness on the shift button

Smashing Tom.

I'm not sure I'd have gone red on the leather but my wife would have.

Lovely car, I considered these when i bought the S3.

Wish I'd bought one now but you can't turn the clock back.

Awesome

Congrats on your purchase.

I personally would not have one as it still looks like a shoe.

Very nice, bloke at work has one, sounds lovely & doesnt half shift.

Very jealous!! Massive fan of these, very understated looks but with savage performance. I would have got it de-badged for extra undercoverness...

Enjoy....... You jammy Bugger!

Very nice.

Right gearbox choice too! I've driven a Toaureg with the ZF-8 in and I was very impressed.

It can also lock up the torque converter in any gear I believe which really sharpens up the responsiveness compared to a conventional auto box. Like you say it really does feel as quick as a dual clutch box.

Have fun.

Haha yeah was tempted with the de-badge, might leave it on for abit then take it off at some point when I get the urge to start tinkering with it.

SWMBO is getting a go behind the wheel today, nervous times ahead lol!

You're a braver man than me! I barely let mine drive my Skoda!

Looks great, spec sounds awesome and the gearbox sounds interesting too.

I hope you really enjoy it mate!

Looks like a great car Tom, having the 116d with 200bhp less than your 135 beast and knowing how sharp it turns in, I can imagine your car is even better as it has plenty of power!

The ZF-8 box is also an incredible piece of kit, the one in the X5 M50 is super slick, it changes so quick that the rev counter does not have time to get down before the engine is back up there and ready for the next gear.

Oooh lovely car. I've been researching these quite a bit recently and love the colour you chose and ZF autobox. Do you have the adjustable dampers?

Yeah the colour really suits it so quite chuffed with that.

Didn't get the adaptive suspension in the end as had to draw the line somewhere with the options! The ride is pretty decent on the standard setup but with adaptive comfort mode gets slightly softer. I could only tell a slight difference when I tried it on my testdrive but lots of owners rate it a must-have option.

Lots of BMW support at the moment so discounts pretty strong and a good time to buy if you are tempted! I think a facelift is due next year but that will probably mean the end of the good deals for awhile at least.
