Auto Express Fabia Vrs Superchipped

Featured Replies

Article in this weeks AE , about the long term test Fabia VRS , they had it Superchipped to 160 BHP ,

Wondered myself however I read it that the insurance co cover all parts that are voided by the supership and Skoda cover the rest, bit of dody ground should a claim be made IMHO. As they are loaned the cars probably from Skoda UK I am sure they have run things past them or so would hope.

John

Which is blatently incorrect information :( (by them, not by you ;))

Its because 'Superchips@ guarantee the warranty for the engine, Skoda will guarantee the rest of the car

This is my understanding too.

And the gains aren't great tbh. Quite a tame map.

Good report though, especially the quote that said it was on par with the 197bhp Golf gti. I have to assume they were referring to stright line ability. New Golf gti would kill a remapped the Fab Vrs thru the twisties

How do you know? ;)

A little naughty I know but I've upped the report here

I liked the comparison to the 911 Carrera S - That should make the boys on Scoobynet happy.

But arent all the 190bhp jobs RRing at 160bhp on the more modern rollers anyway?

At 160 with a warranty that's not a bad package.

More interesting is the fact it RR's at 137 standard. Have they been running a normal standard car

We had a superchips one on the Surrey Session

which produced a little more.

Thanks mate. I'm trying to add to it wherever possible. It looks a bit blank from the front but there is a bit behind it if you follow the links.

Good review.

Just read the 2nd Review bit as well. " maybe the manufactuer can introduce a special edition with some distinctive colours".

Well, that'll be Lemon Yellow then!!!

Great article :)

When the people who drive different cars ALL the time love it, you know its good

Read the review, Pity they didnt look here on how to cure the excessive soot after the remap.

Good old green panel filter & cupra intake.. :)
