I recently took a trip in the back. The only thing it needs is an en suite!

Featured Replies

I recently sat in the back of my twin door on a trip home. Although I have owned it for three years this was the first time I had done a trip In the back. It was actually the first time I had let my wife drive the limo.

I was really impressed. I had loads of room, watched a film on the headrest tv with my son (3yr old). I had enough room to fully cross my legs like I do on the sofa. It was really good. I Had a bottle of water, read the paper and even fell asleep for 10 minutes!!

Only complaint is there is no toilet. I think there is probably enough room to fit an en suite!!!

I just wondered if any other members had thought this? Maybe has anybody fitted one?

There is a toilet, it's in the box in the fold down centre arm rest.

Yes, I also have experienced the back seat, but only on the original test drive. Now if we go on a long run my wife generally sits in the back, lording it up.

I love the phrase "lording it up"!!

My wife does that too. She sits in the back thinking she is a royal!!!

Funnel + garden hose into an empty water bottle in the boot = en-suite urinal?

It is HUGE in the back, my 6 foot 6 inch step sat in the front when I first got my combi, I sat in the back and still had acres of leg room, totally different from the Fabia

It's really nice in the back. I don't mind being chauffeured around one bit

I've not been in the back (the only time I get to be in the back is when I'm cleaning the car) for some time now but others who do always say how comfy and spacious it is.

I'm always surprised by the amount of room in the back for your feet when I take out the rear mats to clean and vacuum, they are the size of many front car mats.

Next item on the list for the car is a Mifi hub so the car can have it's own 4G connection and anyone in the back can use their computers and tables.

Having moved to the Skoda estate from a Mondeo saloon I find the boot shallower (front to back). I think they made the rear legroom greater by fitting the seats further back making the boot smaller (though still big enough). :)

Short bonnet's the big gain for internal space.

Sorry, I mean't tablets. Mount a tablet to the rear of the headrest and watch tv or films on the go.

1Gb for £10 per month or 15Gb for £20 par month.

Either mount it in the rear of the centre console next to the 12v outlet or in the boot again next to the 12v outlet. Keep all the family entertained at once with all their gadgets.

If you get the premium bluetooth it supports wifi hotspot using your phone data allowance (mines unlimited).

Your tarrif must support tethering though or it may block it.

I am all over that! Genius

Just as soon as the fitters come to put the woodburner stove in.

Mine doesn't have bluetooth and also quite like that I'd be able to take it out of the car when needed elsewhere.

Thanks though.

how do you know if you have premium bluetooth - was it an optional extra?

I have a brand new L&K and just trying to get to grips with all the tech in it, so is there a way to instantly know if this is fitted?

thanks

If you have the Columbus then look under the drivers seat. There should be a module under there. You can check the part number and see which bluetooth you have.

Please excuse me if I'm being completely thick here (>97% chance), but I don't understand the part about integrating with the bluetooth system in the car. Can't you just use your phone as personal hotspot (for wifi) using your 3G or 4G data allowance and connect your tablet to it via wifi?

That's my only option as I have an iPhone so it doesn't use the rsap functionality.

But if I had a phone that used rsap it would mean that by using the car instead of your phone you would then use the cars antenna so getting a better signal and so less likely to loose signal during the journey. Also not all phones have the ability to create a wifi hotspot themselves.

Cheers

Dave.

Ah right, thanks Davey.

Premium bluetooth has nothing to do with the Columbus. It works just as well with the Amundsen (+), Bolero or Swing.

With my old Galaxy S3, I could never get the wifi thing working. Now I have a Sony Xperia which doesn't support rsap, but does do wifi hotspot. This enables the kids to do what they want on the move.

It's a shame, because I really notice the reduction in signal now that I'm not using the car's antenna.
