I'm off.. Goodbye!

Featured Replies

So today is my final day of Skoda ownership.  I've had enormous help from Briskoda.net for various things over the 7(!!) years of ownership of my Fabia, so wanted to say thanks to everyone who has directly, or indirectly helped me out, or had a good bit of banter with.

I've loved my car, and am genuinely sad to see him go.  However, my 6'4" frame is suffering from bad backs whenever I drive for a prolonged period nowadays, so it is time for Keith to go.  He's going to be chopped in against a newer motor, so I do not know who he will get to live with next.

The highs:

Day one of purchase - bewildered by the sheer grunt of this beast I purchased.

The day of the shark remap.  Wow.  Just wow.  Everyone should have one.

Highest ever mpg: 82.9 from Leicester to Bristol.  Got 81.7 just the other week too Gower - Bristol.

Spending a whole day whenever I could cleaning & waxing my lovely motor.

Castle Coombe - meeting some of you lovely people, and spanking my motor around the track (16.1mpg I got).

The lows:

That tiny washer bottle.  I could slap the designers.

Boost pipes.  And boost leak.  I'm sure I still have a tiny leak - Somewhere...

Anyway, I'lll stop by occasionally, and see how things are (plus I have some bits for sale at the mo).

But for now, this is Farewell!

No need to go away, plenty of members on here now who are not Skoda owners. Even at this years national meeting we had an assortment of non Skoda cars, several Audis and other makes all present.

And a resident Clio owner who makes you feel good that you bought a Skoda whilst he is having endless problems! Well I've still got the Fabia

 renewing my FREEDOM membership

Yeah, I keep doing that for some reason too...

Dont leave :) I no longer own a Skoda but I am still here :)

Agreed! I've been on various car forums over the years, and I can genuinely say that this is the best I've ever frequented by a long way :)

I'm an Audi and staying here was my idea ;)
