looks like the vRS is v good value

I'm so glad I found the forum as I'm about to lease my new car. I have a citroen DS3 which goes back after a 12month lease, luckily I havn't needed it for anything apart from nipping down the shops. I'm now looking to get a big estate car which can carry my dogs, get me up the alps skiing in winter & down to france/spain in the summer. It needs to seat 5 in comfort as the kids are not little any more, needs a huge boot for all the crap daughters seem to pack for holidays. I've been driving myself crazy about which direction to take, namely a Octy or a Superb. From what I've read the superb is obviously the flagship model & may be better built, however. I'm an enthusiastic driver & like to chuck a car about a bit. It's probably a bit of an odd question, I'm looking at the vrs tdi as my first option & the superb 2.0 se as second. I can get either on a 36 month lease for the same money and just need someone to tell me to just go ahead and that the fun I'll have in the VRS is well worth the trade-off in out & out space. Is the VRS an easy car to live with day to day or is the suspension setup just too hard? It's only going to be driven by me as the missus has her own & the daughters are catered for. Opting for the DSG adds about £30 pm extra which I think maybe not worth it, equally I like a straight forward manual box. If anyone has anything to add please do so.

Ps. I can get the Seat ST FR TDi for about £20 pm less but looking at the shape I do feel the space isn't as useable, we are all 6footers....

Help put me out of my misery please. All the best James

I'd have to question some that say the Leon ST, Audi A4, Merc C class & BMW 3 series are comparative, boot space maybe but, the interior leg room just ain't where the Octy is.  My six year has tro

  • Seat delivery times are quicker because they are not selling any cars, so the queue at the factory is shorter, they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The factory in Spain is losing money hand

  • Another point which needs to be considered is those of us on company car plans...When I am looking at the price of a car (under the BIK rules in Ireland) I have to look at the list price, take away 10

You're in the Octavia section, so I say go for it! :)

On a more serious note, it might be a good idea to go down to a dealer with the family and see if you all fit into it. Dog might be more difficult though :p
