Car sitting lop sided

Featured Replies

I have AP coilovers with the adjusters out on the rear. But the back drivers side sits quite a bit lower than the other side. Is this normal? Is it just the weight of the diesel tank?

if your on level ground then the car should sit even. Having the coilovers on an uneven height at the front can cause the rear to sit differently. If the front is even then its possible one of the rear coilover springs has snapped.

Mine is uneven at the back too!

A full 45 litre tank of diesel weighs 39.4kg, so less than the weight of an adult which should have little impact on the suspension. Spread across both axles the difference should be small.

Im not on coilies, but on standard and 35mm lows, mine is always lower on drivers rear! (OSR)

Definitely not snapped. I'm going to have a check of the fronts tomorrow but I'm pretty sure they're level.

Are your tyres wearing alright?

go armed with a ruler and pen, then find the flattest carpark you can, and then measure the distance between the tyre and wheel arch and then post your measurements here.

Not a fabia but found with a few cars the fuel tank, location of gearbox etc all have an effect on the arch gap / ride height. Maybe find another member with the same set up and compare? Sounds normal to me though.

Yea I will do mate. One side there actually is no gap in the arch though, so I'll measure from the hub to wheel arch or the likes

Just made sure all my tyres are the same PSI on both sides too

Shouldn't be too hard as I think quite a few people run AP's with adjusters out. Hopefully they read this and comment

My APs still have adjusters in but wound all the way down and they are different on either side as well.

Might sound obvious, but are your tyres all at the correct pressure?

Think so mate, only just had new ones though but they look fine!
