Pioneer arrived and it works

Featured Replies

The £77+post 2nd hand satnav someone removed from a car as it wasn't quite working for them is now with me.

Wired in mostly all working - including the BT so I can use it for calls as well as for in built GPS ! Bonus

Downside no cage or gps antenna, so I've ordered the antenna (less than £10), and solved the cage but not getting it properly fitted in until all the bits arrive...

Its given me a taste for what good ICE can do...on this one its only video support not DVD but I wasn't really after that anyway, plus the BT sync is phone use only (not files/music) but at this price who can complain ?

Note the FM is just picking up static ? So I've ordered a cheap antenna amplifier, as I wonder if it might just be all that it is/was missing.

If not I could always retrofit with stealth DAB if I can be bothered.

Also even works for radio control with my Sony mounted stalk ! Really impressive bit of kit when you've been used to a Sony CDX I can tell you.

I was planning to get something like this for this kind of bargain money and happy I've done it without getting badly stung so its a result.

Nice job! Do you know the part number of the plastic thing that comes right above the unit ?

Hi I believe that is standard OEM Skoda but might be wrong ? It was such a long long time ago basically a good 8 years ago ! I think it may be only a few quid. Google the surround or on here, I'm sure it will come up if you look.

The trim above the radio is a standard dealer part, current RRP is about £4.

Yeah just found it in the sticky myself too ! Always RTM :D

FOR FABIA MKI
Also to fit an aftermarket DIN head unit you will need a cover trim piece to fit above the now exposed space above the head unit (under the row of aux. buttons on dash). This is a cheap piece (£3 ish!!) code no 6Y0 857 231 B41 from your local Skoda dealer.
