Replacing Windscreen Wiper Blades

Featured Replies

Hey Everyone - I need to get some new windscreen wiper blades as mine are leaving pretty bad streaks at the moment. (something I didn't realise until I was in the loaner car from the dealer and saw how different a new pair worked!). I can't, however, seem to find any information about what to replace them with. The manual just says that replacement blades can be purchased from a "Skoda Partner" and all of the online sites (halyards etc) don't even list the Mk III as an option. Can anyone give me a hand as to what it is I need to look for for both the 2 front blades and the one rear blade?

I asked this very question some time ago & got no response/answers.

However I did find a vendor on Ebay that sells wiper blades for the Octavia Mk3, seller name is nixon_cp. I haven't used them yet, but these are the only one's I can find without being ripped off.

I've looked at Bosch and theirs don't fit!

I took my car to Euro Car Parts in Guildford & tried them, they don't fit!

Did you try the A188S set?

Try wiperblades.co.uk. They always have offers.

I think the issue here duffer is that no one is listing wipers for the MkIII yet...

The manual just says that replacement blades can be purchased from a "Skoda Partner" ?

Why not just pick some up from your local Skoda dealer?.....

I normally buy blades from TPS as they are cheaper for the genuine article.

I too was having problems finding somewhere that listed the MkIII wiper blades.  Eventually i found some at www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk.

Bought the ABD ones and they fit perfectly.  £20.28 for both front windscreen blades and fittings.  Not too bad

Thanks for all of the replies, everyone!

Looking at the website that Cameraboy sent over - can anyone shed some light on the differences between the ABD brand blades and the Bosch ones? Nearly £10 difference per blade. Am I just buying the brand or are there massive quality differences I'm missing if I go with ABD? (I realise this may be like rekindling the performance fuel debate but all views are welcome)

I've never heard of ABD, however I do know that Bosch manufacture a lot of genuine Skoda blades.

I think that this may be a case of 'you get what you pay for'.

After running Bosch Aero blades for many years on my MkII Octavia (tried cheaper Valeo ones once, never again!) and Superb I'd be happy to spend the extra.

Why not just pick some up from your local Skoda dealer?.....

Wanna pay £40 for a pair?  :o

I don't know what sort of wiper arm you have, but I've tried the Bosch & the ABD one's don't have the right attachment, so they're dead too.

Wanna see clearly out of the windscreen on your expensive new car or pile into the car in front 'cos you wanna save £10...

Has any one found wiper blades for an octavia estate 2016. It's a joke I can't find any after market blades. Nothing seems to fit.

Take your pick. Nothing's different about the wipers from 2013 to date.

I don't think the these look like they will fit. I looked at my wiper Arms and they say SWF on them.

Is it easy to change the whole wiper assembly from swf to bosch??

Should only be the clips that need changing, and the blades usually come with a selection of clips.

Got some from there for a 64 Passat recently, no issues.

Shove your reg into euro car parts it comes up with the right ones, wait for the weekend30 discount and often buying individually is cheaper than s pair . Yes they are described as Passat but they fit my octy

Ok thanks guys (pistonbr0ke and John Rowley) really appreciate your time and posts.

Regards,

Bosch equivalent part numbers here: link

Maybe next time I will try those, the original ones never last longer than 40k km.

I have the Bosch ones now and... They started to judder also not long after I put them in.

But 40tkm from wipers?? I heard the good practice is to change them once a year - how much do you drive?

50-60k km per year so a set don't last a year. :)

Hm, so you don't recommend the Bosch wipers.

I had a Golf mk5 before and the genuine wipers had almost double lifetime, about 70-80k km.
