Engine is in.. Running and at home.

Few niggles, but theyre expected when a different engine has been put in. Because ive got rid of the EGR system it lost a temperature probe. Then another temperature on the head is different. So the fans were on all the time, ive since just plugged a temp in and tucked it close to the engine.

Few pictures along the way..

Ive stripped the damaged engine, and it looks like i have got away with just smashed cam followers. So i am going to rebuild the engine and sell it. I'm going to sell the turbo seperate as its a perfect upgrade for CR140 and the newer 1.6 common rail engines ;-)

No.. Ill have a lookski

What a lovely car. Pity you had such engine issues!

I've always meant to ask this.

How is the suspension in a bagged car? How does it compare with shocked car? Can you still drive like a loon?

  • Author

Its in between a standard car and coilovers for comfort. To me its the same as standard vrs suspension ad its a little stffer. The lower tou drive the less pressure in the bags so its a bit softer - but then you have problems driving too low.

As for driving it hard - most proper kits are track tested. They arent as good as coilovers, but unless you do a track day every weekend the difference isnt noticable. And i can go down any road ;-)

Ahh top stuff mate, making the best of a bad situation at least.

what colour are your porsche alloys suit the car well

The car broke down the other day and completly had a freak. Lights, fans, you name it it came on and went off quicker than anything. Car wouldnt start and when it did it didnt like it and cut out all the time. Bit of digging around and a frw tests i found out what the issue was.. I forgot to put the lid on the fuse box and it got a bit wet. Oh dear..

Stripped it down, cleaned it and refitted. Luckily no lasting issues :-)

Haha no worries mate, the other lads thought it was a bit dodgy a police man pulling in asking lots of questions. Everything is insured anyway [emoji23]

Oh yeah. I didn't even consider how that must have looked.

Didnt realise you'd all clock I was a cop. Even though it is pretty bloody obvious.

Sorry for any embarrassment mate.
