The car detailing world is a minefield. Take it as seriously as you want, or wish to.

Theres always new products for problems you didnt even realise existed.

But yes, the scratch guard things are brilliant.

It's a slippery slope of expense

It is.

The more you learn, the more it costs, and the more you think your car cant survive without that new product.

I'm not even registered, and i can already feel the bankruptcy coming on.

I bought a Nilfisk c110 model a few years ago and it still works fine. It was a recommendation at the time, supposed to have a more durable pump and Amazon had a deal on with a few gadgets. Less than the price quoted by the OP.

Prob 1 the pressure line from machine to wand is too short really, so you have to keep moving the thing around, along with the power cord and water hose. For more money, about the same as the machine, a guy was selling an extended version made of a much nicer, non plasticy stuff.

I think this a general, cheap washer problem. Not restricted to Nilfisk.

Prob 2. After trying to clean some drains, some yukky stuff grew in the filter, blocking it. Managed to clean that out with bleach.

Otherwise has proved its worth.

Don't use it on block pavers, the power washes out the sand. You either have to re-sand them, or live with wobbly blocks. And they don't stay clean for long.

We had a Karcher that failed after four uses; we'd had it 18 months mind but it still failed after four uses.

Karcher after all have a good reputation here.

IMHO I can't see why.

Went to my nearest B&Q but they'd sold out at midday :(

Don't really see what the difference is between all the different models. Is Karcher generally a brand people would recommend? What sort of price should you be looking to pay for a cheaper/lower end washer? £70+?

Did you leave it with the water in over time?

The biggest cause of karcher death is not draining the water out, then leaving it over winter. Its a plastic pump that cracks and knackers it

Depends what you plan on using it for.

Karcher is a good manufacturer, yes. But as i said above, most of them do have plastic pumps which will break if they arent drained.

My brothers got a K2 for doing the garden and the car. Cant fault it.

Saw a TV advert on Friday to back up this thread, bought one yesterday, queuing up at 0655 with half a dozen other sados! Cheers to the OP for the heads up.

Normal hose is fine. All it needs is the connection bit the normal spray end goes into

What's an abnormal hose & can you use one instead of a normal hose?   :wonder:

Picked one up in B&Q Lincoln yesterday and they had loads left, original price £98 so a real bargain.

I'm avoiding going to the Detailing World website at present because I would be in a world of trouble!

Karcher pressure washer for £37. 1 per customer..starts tomorrow I think. Looks like a bit of a bargain!!

Got one yesterday. Thanks for the tip off..........I love it!

The normal hoses are like a curly wurly rabid snakes.

You'll have to do a search for a rubber (rather than plastic) hose. There are longer replacement ones and ones which extend - ie fit on the end of your original.

If B&Q have sold out, try amazon, there's a nilfisk C110 available for £60 atm. Wait a while and there may be one cheaper.

When I bought mine after a heads up on here, the amazon price changed from the Original £40 to £100+, down to £80 then back to £44, but with the patio kit. All in the space of a few hours.

No, we made a point of draining it, that's what's the most gutting!
