Well this happened Thursday night on the way home.

Autoglass came to repair it yesterday but it's too big to repair. Having a new windscreen fitted tommorow.

Apparently 15mm is the maximum size for a repair but mines 20mm because it's now spidered out :(

coming back from the National Meet in 2013 a stone hit my windscreen and i had an 11" crack infront of the drivers view over to the A pillar.

 

When Autoglass replaced the screen, they didnt refit the windscreen ticket holder correctly, they actually broke it and it kept rattling so they had to order a new one, dont let them do the same to you!

I was bringing works van for a service recently - it had 1 small stone chip that they were going to get repaired while it was in.

I was 3miles from their depot stopped at traffic lights, and when the lights went green the Rexton ahead of me spun up his wheels and chucked a load of gravel at me.

pock marked the windscreen in 9 places....

They had to order up a new windscreen, as the cost of repairing them all was more than a new screen!

Stone flicked off the back of a tractor and cracked my old van all the way across the screen back when it belonged to my work

I wouldn't worry Paul, autoglass replaced my screen a few months ago, only thing that bothered me after was a) he didn't place the mirror 100% central the tax disc holder was all funky afterwards and not stuck on correctly and finally there was swirl marks on the interior of the glass

All done now. He's just left. It's a genuine VW screen fitted

He done a great job and quick too.

That is strange the mirror is not place the mirror central. I thought the mirror fixed to a mounting that was pre-set when the mirror was manufactured? 

The new screen comes with the mirror mounting in place already.

I did notice our mirror is slightly offset because of the Citisafe LIDAR sensor.
