Has production of Mk2 Fabia Hatch & Estates ceased already.?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know.  Have they stopped building MK2 Fabias yet, or when do they?

Has anyone got one ordrered from the Factory, and when was it built, or due to be built.

When is it getting delivered to the Dealership?

Just interested & nosey.

george

I read somewhere that production has stopped, the factory is currently shutdown while adaptations are made before production of the new model starts in the next few weeks.

Yes i read that.

But it did not say Production has Ceased with the Mk2's. or did i miss that,  Just about Production Lines, firing up, all systems are go Virgil.

Skoda Media Department are on a New Fabia Promotion Campaign.

So is there a Press Release saying that the only New Old Fabia Mk2 are those already built.?

"Production plant in Mladá Boleslav has been upgraded for the new ŠKODA"

Unless there was more than one factory making the mk2?

It seems obvious that the Production of MK2 Fabias has ceased, but that is why i am asking, Have they or not.

It is just it is August still, & the Motorshow to reveal the New Fabia is in October and Skoda Media Department seem to have said to the Press Media that the

New Fabia will be in Showrooms early in 2015.

So is there up to 4 months maybe longer, where the best selling Skoda in the UK is no longer available other than the cars already built and sitting in stock until all are sold.?

So are there lots of already built and stored for transportation Mk2's Built,  or only limited numbers available for First Registration of these last cars .

Or are Skoda going to get those New Fabias order books open,

& get these cars being built in September, October, November, December & January and beyond at Dealerships in 2014 & not a wait to 2015?

Just wondered.

I dno mate, but if they were trying to shift big numbers of the fabia in time for the new model, surely theyd make big discounts?

I havent seen any decent offers since the SE hatch and estate were available for £9995 and £10995.

So maybe they arent worried about shifting what stocks they have...

Hmm I reckon we need to find Lee at Preston motors

So where are all these 'Black' Editions also available in White.  are they selling like Hot Cakes?

Has anyone got one on the way, or already had it delivered?

Cheers Jack for the nod.

As far as I have read, production has ceased (some weeks ago) for the estate, so anyone considering one would have to choose from what is in stock. Hatch is still going, when it stops I do not know but as the August brochure is out I would have thought it will be a while yet - just like they did on the MK2 Octavia. The Monte Carlo has ceased already, but that is effectively a Black Edition  ;)

Hope that clears things up George

Fabia 2 hatch production ceases roughly at the end of the calendar year.

Perhaps the salesman at Preston motors,a member on here, can throw some light on your questions

RapidRonnie,

is that the Official Word from the Factory, or from some other source?

Is that the Calender Year as in just before the End of December before the Factory has a Holiday,?

Building cars up to the time before the new model hits the Showrooms!

The August Fabia brochure was released online on 18th August ?2014.

That only says that Estate and Monte Carlo models are marked as "Model only available from stock".

Also the following colour matching is removed from August Brochure:-

  • Pacific Blue - Silver Roof
  • Sprint Yellow - White Roof
  • Denim Blue metallic - White or Silver Roof
  • Black Magic pearl effect - White or Silver Roof (White still available on vRS)
  • Rio Red metallic - White Roof (Still available on vRS)
  • Metal Grey metallic  - White Roof (Still available on vRS)

There is no mention of Black edition in the brochure. I guess that means that they are not available for order from the factory and only from stock.

This isn't a definitive answer but it gives the impression, as far as August is concerned, that the other models are still available for order from the factory.

Not liking the colour combinations much for the vRS'

Must be using up all the left over stocks of paint for that lot.

So who is lining up to buy one of the last New Fabia vRS MK2's and at what price!

No Special Editions going to be sold?

I wonder how many will be allocated to the UK .Perhaps SKODA UK can tell us.

there is a mark II fabia vRS estate in greay ion our dealer, pre-reg, at £15300 Keith .... !!!!

Questioned local dealer this morning about Black Edition Fabia Hatch mk2 in black or white, currently available in Skoda stock at UK Port.

Salesman mentioned an approx. price for cash of £14500 deliver in 2 weeks approx.

Sharkrider, I guess that price is because of being pre-registered (3 months old-demo?) which means a fair slice of vat taken off.

What spec std or high spec?

Edited by vrskeith

standard spec..... it was in the showroom for ages at £18600 ... they knew they were never going to sell it at that, so pre registered it and cut the price...

its NOT a demonstrator... its shiny new, in the pale grey, I quite like it. its a bargin really :)

al;l it means is it will show one owner, as the garage. They stopped making the vRS estae a while ago now... there can't be many left!

That is the thing, the public are unlikely to now how many are Stockpiled already, built and unregistered.

Hopefully bargains will be available right up to the Launch of the replacements,

and maybe even after the Order Books open on the Current Fabias replacement.

Really there is a lack of 180 ps Automatic Estates available in the UK at less than £18,000 or even the £16,000 you can get a vRS for.

Guess we could do with some inside information or  run out model sales promotion from  Skoda UK!

Prior to the Paris Motor show or whenever mk3 model launch is planned.

Will the mk3 sales actually commence in the UK prior to the 15 Plate.

Just curious.

Has anyone got an Order in for a new MK2 Fabia, got a build week, and awaiting delivery of their car ?

George,

That's a good idea, to record a log  of the demise of the troubled but much loved model!!
