Skoda Octavia Amundsen FW Upgrade

Featured Replies

hi all ,

i have a skoda octavia 2013 sw with amundsen multimedia system

There is a way to upgrade the firmware of this system ?

Thanks all

Dont think so due to the component protection.

A dealer would be able to if said firmware existed but would not be done as a matter of course only if there is a service bulletin out or its a prescribed measure to resolve a warrantable fault on the vehicle.

What problems are you having with it?

As above - unless you have a fault that is fixed by a firmware upgrade, or Skoda put a new firmware on general release, you won't get an update from your dealer.

According to skoda website, we should be getting software enhancments, when available, during minor service:

"Vehicle & software enhancements from ŠKODA’s database"

So i would assume, regardless have you identified any of the faults/problems with the software you have, you are eligable for any update that has been released for your skoda, unless you have latest version already.

Ermm ....very unlikely! You take your Skoda in for a minor service. The technician has to justify every minute of his existence to whatever dealer he work's for. So he has a certain amount of time to get your service finished. You think he will then go through every control unit in your vehicle and check it's software is upto date and update them. No chance! He/she would soon be on the dole.

On MQB platform cars you will only get a software update if it has been allocated to your chassis number at the factory to address a known issue. As far as I am aware there have only been a handful since the O3 was launched. Just because an update is available it doesn't mean you automatically get it.
