Fabia mk2 average age of driver?

Featured Replies

I think they made the Fabia taller for today's taller people so maybe it was meant for young people.

I'm 40 so feel neither young or old, but I'm sure I'm old to some but young to the others.

  • Many people I meet think I'm an old man driving an old mans car. That is until I put me my foot down & catch their facial expression expression on my rear view camera. I'm 69 knocking on 70 &

  • Never mind the Girth, feel the width.   we know an extra 3 1/2" makes all the Difference,  the difference between the ooo or ahhhh.   Does the Polo or A1 prove more attractive to the opposite sex

But as far as looks are concerned from an external view, low and wide is cooler. Hence why so many orher manufacturers go for this look i think.

Im 5 foot 10. Neither short or tall (maybe even average) and i cant fill anywhere near the amount of headroom that the fabia had. I could wear a top hat in there!

26 here.... I know it looks a little gawky, but the extra space is useful for me as I'm fairly large.

I'm 33 and swmbo is 39 she only drives the mk2 though, while I get to use both :-)

Recently reported in the motoring press that Skoda puts the average age of a fabia customer at 55.

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/fabia/88457/skoda-fabia-12-tsi-review

I reckon the average age of open top sports car drivers at 70 and newer Jaguars at about 80, and yes, a lot of them have blue badges although they never seem to have any problems lifting the golf club bag/trolley out the boot!

It would be interesting to where Skoda got that average age from, what sources were used.

If that is taken from the sale of new cars to customers.

They hardly know what Standard or Optional equipment models they produce have fitted or will have fitted.

Must be lots of Youngsters with Fabias as well as Oldies if an Average comes out at 55.

But the there must be lots of Open Top Sports car Drivers or Jag drivers in there 90's or 100's to get an Average as you suggest.

31 driving an estate vrs. I agree with what some of you guys say. The majority of people I see driving the hatch seem to be in their 60's. Most young people seem to drive the monte's. I do see younger peeps driving them too though. I like the hatch personally. Think it's a decent looking motor. Solid car for the money.

Skoda's in general are not that common a sight round here, not helped by the nearest dealer being over 20 miles away I suppose. However I have to agree when you see another Fabia its often got a more mature driver at the wheel, with the exception of spotting my lad out and about. He's 21 and on his second Fabia since starting driving at 17. His choice of car by the way and as many have said insurance costs are low in comparison to his mate with a older shape Corsa.

I had the mk1 fabia vrs for just over 4years then moved to the mk2 fabia vrs when I was 28 and loving it...

Ant

Im 29 (on my 7th Skoda), many people mention to me that the Fabia is an "old mans car" especially before as well when I had a big green Octavia Mk1 estate!

I don't see it really matters, if you enjoy it and it does what you want, people can think what they wish :D

I'm 33 on my second Skoda Fabia I had a mk1 vrs then traded it in for my mk2 vrs

I'm 19, got her when I was 18.

I'm 25 but got my MK2 at 23 and my MK1 at 21.

I thought I would be one of the youngest.... not anymore....

:(

I always thought I was a bit young for my Fabia.

That's why I got the Superb

You think the average age for a Fabia driver is old, Just bought my Mum (84) a Ford Fusion- now that is for the old. Mind you it does have a sequential gearbox :envy:

Not a fan of those boxes

A sequential box in a car? Huh? I thought just bikes had those? Haha

They're crap mate! Well it's a Semi Auto system! Cheap ones are crap like the Corsa Easytronic which is a pathetic car but then more expensive ones are great

Oh. So its just a cheap auto, not an actual sequential box like a bike?

Exactly

Toxicvrs,

you certainly seem to have driven lots of different cars in this past year since passing your driving test.

I have had a Durashift Fiesta & a Transit.  i liked them, which was why i drove them.

if you do not like Autos,  you may not like them, but Crap is a bit strong.  Horses for courses and drive or buy just what you like.

I had a Punto Speedgear, which was really a CVT,  but could properly be used as a Sequential,  the First Sequential Car i drove,

& i kept it for 3 Years, its was on Lease, and i really enjoyed that car.

Yes I have driven lots of vehicles it's something that is quite normal when your a mechanic! I'm all for autos but the Corsa is nothing like an auto, it revs to 4000 rpm before thinking it should change, is dim witted and just not very well designed and then when in manual mode very very slow to change gear!

Sounds like autos used to be. Working off oil pressure?

Some Autos have come a long way havent they. The DSG boxes are pretty damn good

Yes DSG boxes have advanced hugely and are now the gearboxes to go for if you want an Auto! Personally I prefer a manual as it feels a bit more connected by that's just me

I like a manual too.

Only other box id even consider having is a DSG though. Wouldnt bother messin with anything else
