Unsupported OS...or not!

Featured Replies

Periodically our parent company push out online ethics courses that we are obliged to complete. They seem to tweak the course platform every time I do it, sometimes it works in Firefox or Chrome on Linux, other times it's specifically had to be IE on Windows, but for the last few years it's worked fine on Linux. This morning I got notification of a new course, so followed it through to finally get this pop-up:

Not the most helpful message! Switching user-agent doesn't alter it, so I've fired off an email to see what they say.

Interesting, especially as Linux is ON the supported list; obviously they dont like the TASTE of whatever you are using.

(For those that dont get that joke - Linux comes in many flavours and varieties).

Java or flash version maybe.

Reminds me of the old Windows Unknown Error message box a bit.

I love it when my VBA code falls over with the helpful message:

Ah the good old days of beep codes and dip switches.

They still exist at least as far as XP. I know that from issues with my work PC when I (not our IT department) had to change my graphics card. Had to diagnose the issues from the beeps and lights!
