I know I was meaning the Media holder.

And wiggo was showing the actual bluetooth+ pocket in question!

Can't see that link on my phone [emoji57]

I wonder if Skoda and other marques will now start making bigger mobile cubby holes.

I've stopped using the bluetooth+ cubby, I like to have my phone on charge in the car and that's not possible with an iphone 6 in the cubby. I do put it in there if I want a better data rate when tethering, though.

My wife has her 6 plugged in and in the bluetooth+ cubby...

Yeah the cupholder phone holder won't fit an iPhone 6, we got one in for my wifes Mk2 RS and mine didn't fit. Her 5s fits fine. Really like iPhones but not the huge phone decision. I blame Samsung for the phablet and enormous phone trend, I've been hoping for an iPhone nano since my original 3GS.

My iPhone 6 is in a unicorn beetle case and therefore doesn't fit in the phone holder that goes in the cup holder.....

But I found out tonight a 4bar kitkat dark fits in it lovely :-) Didn't check with a normal kitkat, but if anyone is interested I can do that next time I'm allowed the car keys :-D

My 6 fits in the cup holder, but the 6+ would not and the 6 with ANY form of case would not.

Yeah tried it without its very slim leather slipon case...fits but only just. Wouldn't want to be using that on a daily basis. Unfortunately by the time these came out the whole phone size worldwide grew bigger not long after.

I have an older Xperia Z fits in the cubby equipped with standard bluetooth. I have left the phone in my kitchen by accident and gone out to the car, switched the Amundsen on and it STILL paired with the phone, which was sitting a good 35 feet away in the house! Which leaves me wondering why some people have problems with Bluetooth, and what the hell is the point of Bluetooth +?

I think you misunderstand what Bluetooth+ is.

Bluetooth+ is essentially an inductive loop in the base of the cubby hole phone storage, this very effectively boosts GSM reception for your phone as long as it's placed in the cubby hole.

It easily gives a couple of more bars in a low cell reception area. I have no idea why they market is as Bluetooth+ in the UK. Here in Finland Skoda just calls it the "Phone Box".

Importantly for me, it improves my data speed from about 3mbps on a good day, to about 12+ mbps. Tested on my driveway. On long journeys, I turn tethering on, put the phone in the box and the passengers get pretty reliable data via wifi.

Either way, I don't and have never missed the 'inductive loop', as I have never encountered any coms drama in my car :-) Spotify and suchlike stream perfectly well with no buffering

I think an earlier post may have given a good example of it use's and benefits.  Kids in the car with tablets, etc, the Wifi is dramatically increased while tethering the handset.

Not trying to be funny, but not had any probs with Wifi either, which makes me wonder if I have Bluetooth+ without having specced it. Is there a way to find out?

The tray has a symbol embossed on the base of it if it is Bluetooth+
