I'm new so if I am doing this wrong...let me know!

My daughter became the owner of a Fabia Estate a few months ago. 51 reg. she's just had a new exhaust fitted, the car is still making a weird noise, got it looked at by a different repair shop and he told her that model should have had a twin exhaust? is this right no seems to know, so I thought as well as being a convert to Skoda cars, I'll ask you young 'uns! :)

Is it a diesel engined model?

If its a TDI it should have an exhaust with a twin tailpipe. To be honest though it should make little difference as its the same single pipe coming from the engine. Only maybe its the wrong backbox?

What Fabia is it? :D

Oh, and welcome, of course. :)

Welcome

Thanks to all of you for answering and welcoming me...an old and crumbly!

Andy, it's a petrol....I dont really know what a T.D.I. is something to do with turbo driven? A Fabia Elegance Estate? her old Fiat finally gave up on her and she's wanted a Skoda for ages. I'll check when I get home (told you I'm a thicko!) :)

TDI is a turbo diesels, available in 2 different 1.9 engines (100bhp / 130bhp) and a 1.4 in the Fabia.

I think all petrol models should have single exhausts

:iagree:

I never hesitate to ask a question if I'm unsure of something. I hate it when people PRETEND to know more than they do...

Hi every one, I should have let you know what happened after all the above! Eventually it turned out to be the bearings(?) if thats the right spelling! another bit of gossip I have just been granted a Blue Badge..great we are now exempt from the congestion charge...but for every upside there's a down...:-( the other day parked outside our house the Badge was on display and a man was peering in the car...that night we heard the alarm go off, the bugger had prised off the bit of the handle that you push in ( a bit like the old fridge doors) but I thought there would have been a deadlock ? my daughter opened the window, he was rifling through the glove box, had the radio on the seat, all the internal lights were on. She screeched at him in words that I had never heard her use before, I think it was good old anglo saxon! he saunteres away quite laid back and gets into a Mercedes leaving the radio on the seat, I have now been told that the Disabled badges are worth stealing ' cos they are worth

Welcome to Briskoda. :D Sounds like you are having an eventful time right now. :(
