Right VCDS for Oct3 vRS?

Featured Replies

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post.... but is this:

http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html

The right VCDS for me to buy to make changes to my Oct 3 vRS? (like shutting off annoying boot and seat belt warning beeps, and closing the boot from the key fob...).

My vin didn't work on the ross-tech site and the chart gives me two options (the other being a micro-organisms interface).

Cheers

That one will be fine;

Here's an offical UK source with UK support:

You could probably use this one:

Again from and offical UK source.

However I'd go for the first one, there would be no doubt it will work and I expect would have a greater secondhand value should you decide to sell it.

Yes, that one will be fine and will work pretty much any VAG car. You could also go for the cheaper micro CAN interface, which is for newer card.

Thanks guys, I'm in NZ, so UK support not really a consideration. Might be an nz supplier, now I know the right one I can check. Otherwise, I'll import from wherever works out cheapest.

Cheers!

There is a NZ distributor.

Thanks - just found that myself. Minor problem is that distributor is actually in Australia and doesn't appear to sell from the website or have any supply links to NZ!

I ordered mine directly from Ross-Tech.com as that Australian based distributor never responded to my query (although that was November 2011).

Awesome, thanks Andrew. And did you get the one I posted on above, or the cheaper micro-can? Cheers

I got this one:  http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCuCAN.html  Worked great with both my old MK2 Octavia vRS and the new RS Octavia

Perfect, thanks Andrew. I'll order that one.  Looking forward to having a play with it!
