What accessories should my car come with?

Featured Replies

Hello

Picking up my new (to me) Rapid Spaceback this coming weekend. It's a 9 month old ex demonstrator with 6k on the clock - 1.2 TSI in SE spec. It has a spare wheel as well.

I want to make sure none of the removable bits have gone walkabout in that time, so would appreciate some guidance on the following:

What items should be in the spare wheel tool kit (locking wheel nut is already there)?

Are the iPod holder (that sits in the cup holder) and the bin (that goes in the door) standard items or optional extras (not in car during test drive)?

Is the warning triangle that goes in the boot recess a standard item or an optional extra (not in car during test drive)?

In terms of manuals, storage folder, key and radio codes etc - what should I be given?

Are both keys remote fobs, or do you get one fob and one standard key?

Anything I've missed, and anything you folks think I should know to look/ask for, old be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

No service book cos it's all on computer,

The Tweezer for Wheel Nut Cover removal.

1- iPod holder, wasn't in my elegance when I bought it (cost less than £15 from local dealer - unsure if it's worth the cost)

2- warning triangle, again wasn't in my car (thinking of getting the boot protector accessory with reflective strips as chipped the thin paint of the rear bumper on the first day of collecting the car :( )

3- key fobs are both proper remote keys :)

I didn't get a media holder or warning triangle either. Didn't even get a free bottle of oil if they still do that?

No rubbish bin in the door pocket.

As said you do get 2 remote keys :)

I don't have mine yet but pretty confident that out of that list you get two remote keys and that's yer whack. Everything else is an accessory as far as I know

Mine was NEW SE 1.6 13 liftback.  Other than 2 keys  I got nowt with mine.  Oh I lie some paper inserts in footwells

I got an oily rag in the door pocket of my new Fiat Punto. Good old Arnold Clark, they know how to look after a customer. No wait, they're terrible

Have the media holder but it came with the previous Octy III as did the 1ltr of oil, which I assume the dealer who supplied the Spaceback decided to keep themselves, as it was there while the car was on display in the showroom but gone on collection.

Regard keys, then as above we were supplied with two full remote keys.

Warning triangles come under accessories in the UK and if you want the boot side bins and pocket net you have to order them too, although not all dealers seem to be able to accomplish this, as the parts have to come from European stock.

Thanks all for the replies. I don't mind ordering things like the triangle, iPod holder etc (just wanted to make sure I wasn't paying for something that had already been supplied with the car once).

Good to know that both keys are remote fobs.

What bits should be in the spare wheel tool kit:

So far I've worked out that it should contain the following:

Jack

Front screw-in towing eye

Tweezers for removing wheel nut covers

Wheel nut wrench (which I assume doubles up as the handle for the jack)

Locking wheel nut key

Anything else missing from that list?

Cheers

Chris

Additional to your list our Spaceback came with three other items in the tool kit;

Double ended Torx screwdriver with plastic handle

A smallish L shaped screwdriver with a flat blade on the long leg and another Torx on the short leg

Wheel trim puller (looks like a split ring from a key ring but with a small hook sticking out)

I got the fitted rubber mats with mine , never thought that I would want them in anything other than a Landrover ,but they are great !

I have a tyre inflater and Gunk but also a spare and tools, but I had to buy them.

The car came with reversing beepers , saved me from reversing into a small post whilst on holiday.

I have some fabric treatment "cushion and rug protector "spray from Dunhelm mill that I have used on the two Fabia's in the past. Will do the Rapid at the weekend seemed quite useful on the Fabia's.

I got spare wheel and tools soon to be a Rays alloy as spare because I kerbed one :(

Rubber mats and mudflaps all round at extra cost [emoji6]
