9.5" x 18" wheels on rear

Featured Replies

Just a quick query

Is anyone running 9.5" wide rims on the rear of their Octavia?

If so, what ET are they, what size tyres fit, and was any arch modification required

Cheers

Hi, I'm running 9.5 x 19s merc amg's on the rear of my octavia. They are et 46 with a 5mm spacer so that the rear of the wheel doesn't catch with the lower suspension arm. So the final ET after the spacers is 41.

The tyre size is a 225/35/19 and my coil overs are wound down nearly all the way. The tyre tucks just into to arch and I have not needed and arch mods.

I'm guessing there's a huge amount of stretch with 225s?

Do you have any pictures?

There is a fair amount of stretch, but nothing too off offensive.

Without some stretch on the tyres I think there would be problems with them catching the arches especially if you are quite low.

If your car is not really low I think you would be able to get away with a 235 if you don't fancy too much of a stretch.

Il take some pics for you when I get home from work this evening and post the up.

Not thinking of some new wheels again are you Bryan? Thought you loved those you had on.

Unlike Bryan to get 'gotta have new wheels' syndrome!

Not convinced. I still think the nicest ones you had were those Audi Callitos a couple of years ago......

That seems like light years ago   :)

Is that a more PC way of saying "long overdue for a change"? :D

The Rays have only just gone, so I'd be mad to even look at others

But then again, I am mad

:(

My tyres are 225/40ZR18s.
