Vauxhall Corsa, Corsavan, Adam, 2014 Steering Issues on New Cars.

Featured Replies

Bloody hell I was thinking of buying a vauxhall Adam but luckily bought the hyundai i10 picking it up today

And the old ones

I loved the following quote,

"Vauxhall said that, "as a precaution, these vehicles should not be driven prior to inspection"

As opposed to any other corsa? There's a special place in hell for the person that designed the astra and corsa. After 3 years of driving hire cars for work I've developed a special hatred for them.

and who on earth thought of the name, Adam, for a car

So what's their excuse for the pre May 2014 ones? Surely they aren't supposed to be like that?

I've only ever seen skinny Jean wearing camp lads driving the Adam.

Seems to be octogenarians here. Really not the target market but its the only people driving them.

It's no worse than Laurin & Klement, the car is named after Adam Opel, the founder of Opel which designs, engineers and builds most of the Vauxhalls we see over here.

Woops what a **** up

Not the first time vauxhall have a steering issues either. The 1st gen meriva had problems with the steering too. My mums old meriva went to vauxhall under recall twice for the problem. Dangerous

So did the Corsa just found our low mileage one has started to do it!

SWMBO had a Tigra 2, on the Corsa platform.

There was a recall on them too, brakes were going on fire. Wasn't urgent apparently.

We use the Astra 1.7 as police cars and all of them have been recalled for braking issues. Not that you need them on police cars eh?

I used to own an ex-police Focus mk1 1.8 TDDI which had the worst brakes I've ever experienced and I've driven series 3 landrovers with drums all round!   Really does make you wonder about the panda cars the police use, used to worry me every time it passed it's MOT as well.

Similar to BrownBarge on a Meriva 54 reg.

I had  a Vaulhall Meriva to be honest it was an ok car drove well, very quiet, loads of space inside BUT the steering failed (loss of power assistance) just after drooping off friends at Heathrow T1.

The power steering failed on the spiral descending road and it was inches from crashing through the concrete wall several floors up,yes pants and poo come into this reply  .

Lucky it reset it self after switching on/off the ignition a few times power steering assistance restored.it drove ok then. Next stop was to trade it in on the way home,so from near incident to car exchange =25 minutes.i could not keep a car like that.

PS I did tell the receiving dealer (Nissan) of my story just to warn them in advance,Dealer said it was a known fault in the trade.

James.
