wireless mice

Featured Replies

I've ordered three wireless mice now, from a variety of places, and they all suck for different reasons. Apple make a decent wireless mouse, why can't one be made for windows?

One mouse kept cutting power off every 10 seconds unless you hammered it into the desk, one the accuracy was appalling and the third the scroll wheel keeps giving phantom scrolls. Do I have to bite the bullet and spend £40 for a decent one?

I went back to a wired mouse. Wireless was just too much hassle.

Did you have anything in the area that might have caused interference?

£40 for a decent mouse isn't that unusual these days. If it works then it would be worth it.

i use a logitech m185, i think it cost around £15 never had an issue with it. decent range the battery lasts for ages and it points where i point it.

The distance from the mouse to the USB thingy is about 12" but there is a speaker right next to the mouse?

mine is working at just under 2 meters away with either the xbox wireless on or the ps3 wireless on, got a couple of speakers near the receiver too.

I've got three cheapie (less than a tenner) wireless ones on different machines and the only issues I've had a dodgy scroll wheels - take them apart and a quick squirt of WD40 on the scroll sensor and they have been sorted for good.

They all seem to have a power save mode so I've got into the habit of giving the wheel a quick tweak when I start using them again after leaving them stationary for a few minutres...

I bought a cheapie LOGIK one from PC World, think it was £10 or something.

Never let me down and this is one my work HP laptop. Batteries need replacing about every month but if it's not used it goes to sleep, one click and it comes back to life.

I use the Logitech Wireless MX Anywhere, both at home and at work - i have had no issues at all.

I've just taken it apart and given the scroll sensor a blast with a can of compressed air, let's see how it goes now!

I haven't used a mouse for a LONG time.   :)

I moved to a wireless trackpad and its GREAT.  :)

Does everything a mouse does but without all that moving around the deskspace.  :D

  for wireless mouse. Standard USB mouse is the way forward! :)

the Logitech looks good but I like a mouse to have those buttons on the side for forward/back as well.

I had issues with certain wireless mouse/mobo combos; the childrens PC at work wouldnt transfer files via USB properly because the mouse was constantly polling; I suspect it is often a driver issue, rather than the actual hardware.

had a hp mouse that did that, it ate batteries and wasn't as good as the logitech in the other aspects. it was on offer at comet though for £10 so can't really complain. Could you use a wired mouse with a usb extension cable?. Or connect an extender cable to the pc/laptop and have the wireless receiver closer to the mouse, i have done that before and it works fine.

and a fancy case too. don't get that with the m185

Well - its lasted well and been to on a few long haul flights with work.

The battery life is perhaps not as good as some Logitech's i've had.

But overall its a winner for me

i like how the logitechs have a small profile too, the HP i had was huge in comparison.

I use the cheapest Logitech wireless keyb and mouse set Asda had. I've had it over a year and it's been fine. The only drawbacks are if you leave the mouse on an uneven surface, it drains the battery, and no additional buttons, just left, right and scroll.

An update, I eventually spent £43 (ok, it was the company's money!) and bought a wireless keyboard and mouse from Logitech. The mouse is a M705, and it's faultless.

The keyboard is good too - K270.

I bought a Polaroid one for peanuts at Morrisons

Great battery life and hasnt put a foot wrong in many weeks!!

What are the pictures like?

OK..but blurred due to the movement :D
