max weight

Recommended Posts

It is not much more than the luggage for 3 going to an airport.

25kg ballast is bolted to the rear passenger side Crash Bar,

so remove that, that you can put in 4 x 28 kg blocks.

If you think the 3 x 28kg is a bit much,

while doing it, maybe remove the 19 kg spare wheel temporarily.

(Ballast Weights off the car & spare wheel out and you are shifting 44 kg less around.

Only VWG / Skoda would make cars heavier, while all other manufacturers try to make them lighter.)

It might be fine while your transporting it but keep in mind the strain your putting on the springs they do have a tolerance and although the owners manual States and amount it knows people will never even come close to fully loading a boot with its capacity not worth the trouble specially if it's real heavy stuff you can hire a van for 25 quid a day now

Or to your nearest Dealership & go get a 'Roadtest / loan'  of a Fabia vRS Estate,

it had a Max Gross of 1,713,  which is 5kg lower than the Hatch.

But stronger rear springs.

& its wonderful that an estate with a minimum of 180 ps can carry a Fridge Freezer etc,

& you do not even need to buy it for less than £15,000.

(just get an loaner!!!)

Theres bigger cars than a fabia to do this with though. Might aswel use an audi a6 avant or something.

Could just as easily spend £30 and hire a vw transporter or vauxhall vivaro or something though.

Could should would. Fabia 2 section so was not intended as a serious suggestion. Sorry.

I have thought of getting a 24 hour test drive in something when iv got a big trip to do.

Would keep the miles off my car, im always interested in driving different cars, and its free, which a hire car isnt.

Three passengers 80kgs each would be perfectly fine and car is designed to carry that plus driver AND luggage - you are not even remotely close to capacity :)

But all the weight is directly over the back wheels and on the boot floor, not spread out
