I finally have a build date

Featured Replies

After the garage having to order me another rapid as I wanted to change the spec I have finally been given a build date of week 48. I'm guessing that will mean that I'll be collecting the car sometime around Christmas but i don't care as now I can finally look forward to it.

When I spoke with one of the other salesmen last week he told me that anything made after week 45 get free upgrade(s) as they will essentially be 2015 models.

Unfortunately I don't know what any of these upgrades are likely to be so it'll be a nice surprise. I'm wondering if they will be going the same route as the Spaceback and doing away with the SE model which is what I have ordered and replace it with the SE Tech or something like that.

I can't find anything online but I'm sure something will appear sooner or later.

I'm not planning anything major for the car when I get it. I'll put my private number on it next year when the 15 reg comes out and I will get the windows tinted. Might do the lightbulb upgrades. We'll see.

Pleased to hear you have provisional build week and I'd think WK48 would be a new year car. Our WK46/12 Fabia made it to the dealers in the first week of December and that apparently was a quick shipment.

MY15 has probably been in production since WK22 (June), as this is the normal modal year switch over week for Skoda. However WK45 is considered the half yearly point and often some of the more major updates tend to appear around this time. TPM I believe is now standard in line with new EU directives.

Exciting. What one have you ordered?

We were told our Rapid has made it to port and is now waiting for an available ship to sail.. Perhaps only a few more weeks to wait.

Just make sure that if they change model names they don't have to cancel the order and re order with the new model name like they do with face lifts. When we originally ordered the Yeti it was for a pre face lift, but as the order overlapt the change over to the facelift our order was cancelled as Skoda had to make sure we still wanted it as it wasn't the facelift we had ordered. This shouldn't mean a delay providing the salesman rings you straight away to check, unlike ours who neglected to to tell us for nearly 3 months so ended up taking almost 9 months for delivery altogether. I'm sure it won't be the case as the Rapid isn't a facelift but just thought I would let you know.

According to the dealer it went code 10 yesterday which means it has a build date so I'm assuming that the delay in getting the build date was due to the changed spec or something to that effect but thanks for the info.

Mines MY15 and was built in August [emoji106][emoji16]

So is there anything new on it that it doesn't show on the website? I know it will have the TPM now but not sure what else.

Actually I'll be happy with any upgrade or addition other than the flaming arm rest.  That was the only thing I didn't like about one that I took for a test drive.

I received an email today to say that the car is being built this week an to expect to take delivery around the middle of December.

I'm now getting together a list of things I can ask them to do via the VCDS. So far I have thought about one press to unlock all doors and showing the amount of fuel left in the tank on the display.

Any others worth considering? Thought about dial staging but not really bothered about that one.

received an email yesterday to say that the car is on its way and they are confident that I will be able to pick it up this week.

So I hurredly ordered all of the bits that i wanted to from Skodadop yesterday and it was only last night that I realised that the rubber floor mats I ordered had the part number for the left hand drive version. Doh :|

I've emailed them to see if they have the right ones but if not then hopefully I can knock them off the order before they are despatched.

It does also mean that I can claim back a full 6 months road tax instead of 5 on the Honda
