First Service

Featured Replies

Hi, we got our Octavia last Monday and I know with some cars they have their first "service" after only a few miles, is this the case with Skoda?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Enjoy your new car.

A Dealership might offer a New Delivery Vehicles Courtesy Check after 1,000 miles or so.

& they would inform you of that.

The New Skoda will normally be on Fixed Servicing at 9,400 Miles ( 10,000) Annual 372 Days,

A Minor Service.

Or Variable Servicing, maybe at 18,000 -19,000 miles.

A Major / Inspection Service.

Again they should have told you at Hand Over, or in the Paper Work or Agreement.  Service Plan etc.

Thanks George, it does mention the fixed one in the service plan but didn't know if there was one earlier.. thanks again

You should be able to check what service the dealer has set the car too in the maxidot.

Regards,

If you are on a service plan then you need to get the car serviced every 10,000 miles or 12 months (whichever is reached first) to get the best value out of the plan.

If the plan is a 3 year or 30,000 mile plan you'll get all 3 services covered.

If the car has been set to variable / long life servicing (up to 20,000 miles or two years) then you are only going to get one service in the 3 year / 30,000 mile period of the plan.

Make sure the dealer has set the service indicator to fixed, not variable.

I do agree with silver1011 when you buy a car it is better to ask and confirm everything from the retailer. I am newbie to this forum and don't know much about this. Hope you have already got reply for your query. You can contact me at custom essay writing service, I am a professional writer.

My wife has just taken delivery of her new Spaceback, on checking the service book - that had not been fully filled in  -  I noted that the car was set as Q16 which is variable, also noted a sticker on door pillar that said next service 10.000 miles. I questioned the dealer who assured me that it was 10.000 miles or 1 year.

We had told them that we would only do 5.000 miles so wonder why the car is logged as variable.....?

All models leave the factory set to variable. The sticker applied inside the front of the service book is a printed out in the factory - hence Q16 (variable).

The dealer then changes it from variable to fixed as part of the pre-delivery inspection (PDI).

Thanks for the confirmation.
