How to "unsteam" my Fabia?!

Featured Replies

Are they free?

I will get going later on in some other thread about using a Green House Heater,

& i will get Flamed for that.,

But then as will get pointed out, its been done for Years in Caravans, Campers & Vans,

You use a Safe Electric Supply, & obviously uplug before driving away.

Handiest to have Wind Deflectors, and the Cable can go in and the window is a little open.

The Temperature stays just above freezing in the car, and the outside glass also stays clear of Ice and Snow,

& seldom ices up as you drive off.

You can now even plug in at various places that have Free EV Car Plug in Places if you have the correct Cable / Adapter.

Looks like we are heading into the winter tyre thread season.

Looks like we are heading into the winter tyre thread season.

I don't know how I am going to survive this winter keeping my 'non-winter' tyres on........ :dull:

A few hours or days of Frosts or even snow in Cheshire and you should cope quite well,

Sparkly,

Those post s / threads started here last week,

and in Off Topic as well.

Black ice in my area last weekend, & Freezing Fog this week.

No Salting or Gritting started yet in this area.

Just as well the Roads are dry and wonderful.

Mine has been doing it a lot recently. Pain in the arse. Drove for 7 miles the other night and couldn't really get it fully clear! My a/c turned on by itself. Is that normal then? Definitely helped when the AC was on

If you have the 'Auto' button pressed it will work in 'Auto'

Until the Outside Temps are low enough that the A/C does not operate.

Re the Time before winter tyres and people did not crash.

There are winter tyres now and people that do not fit them still do not crash when they drive according to the conditions.

No idea when the Time Before Winter Tyres was,

Because where they were needed all over the UK, people fitted Town & County or the likes,

& cars & Vans, Lorries etc had narrower tyres, often with more Tread on Narrower Tyres, (& not ECO Tyres, that are crap in the Dry let alone the Wet / Cold)

Lower powered cars & drivers that thought about when and where they were driving.

any small City Cars, and cars on Narrow Summer tyres possibly perform better in the Coldest & Snowiest Conditions the UK might have compared to AWD & 4x4's with unsuitable Low Profile & Wide Profile Tyres & all the Electonics & Traction Control Devices that Manufacturers can fit.

HGV / Diesel Drivers even in the UK used to Light Fires under fuel tanks.

Location, Location & Location and Conditions.

I've typed it a few times on here, but far and away the best little snowmobile I have ever driven was my folks '51 Plate Ford KA.

Light car, skinny summer tyres, seemingly ideal power delivery, it was utterly unstoppable when borrowed about 4-5 years ago.

Completely trounced almost everything else on the road and was exceptionally entertaining to be in.

Heater was a bit poo though so you were either stiflingly hot or freezing.

It also didn't steam up much

:)

& i had my one built with the Best Heater i could, and light. with clearance,

Just need some snow to get some use out of it this winter.

Sitting on a SORN without a MOT, but that takes an hour,  then raring to go.

My Picanto went just about every place the Jimny did as long as the Roads were ploughed,

& it had a fantastic heater.

None of them steam up when kept dry & ventalated inside no matter the weather.

The cars & Vehicles that most often are stuck & going no place or losing control are the Bloaters with AWD & the wrong tyres.

Not the Corsa, Polo, Fiesta type.

What was the cayenne like in the snow George?

My mate had one the other year. Traded it in before the snow came for a bmw z4m

We were never sure what the cayenne would be like in the white stuff. Its 4x4, yes. But those tyres are very wide low profiles tryna pull 2.2 tonnes of car around.

The v8 sounded nice never the less.

It is stuck.

It should have stayed on prepared roads.

Oh hahaa. Didnt realise it was stuck mate.
