Big Trouble I fear, If anyone could help ?

Hi Phil

In all seriousness, I'd have been looking at 3rd party warrantys if I knew last week what I knew today about 2007 BXE engines.

Are you able to find out when your car was built?

I think it's on the sticker in the boot under the carpet.

Phil

Hi Phil,

Sorry that sticker rubbed of a while ago after some water ingress to the boot. But it was first delivered end Sept 2007. VIN decide doesn't give me an exact date either just MY2008

Very tempted by a service offered by a guy in Doncaster KJ Auto Clinic who puts an older 1.9 in the car linking it to the electrics etc of the BXE. also seen reports if replacing the BXE with a BKC

OP I'm feeling a little guilty for hijacking your thread, how did you get on?

Also, if you get a BKC, you can remove the DPF as those engines don't come with a DPF in the first place

Neither does the BXE in the Octavia.

Ahh that's interesting.

I have the BKC, no issues to report

No DPF on my BXE either, mines registered as a March 07 car.

Yeah, no 1.9 engine in the Octavia got a DPF.

Only the 2.0 in certain models got one.

The 1.9 fitted to some other models (Audi and VW) did get a DPF I believe but definitely not in the Octavia.

Phil

Yup, lack of DPF was a factor in me choosing 1.9 over 2.0 sorely regretting that now!
