Lambda -22mm socket with a 0.5cm line cut out with a grinder.

Brake line spanner : cut a notch in an old spanner.

Ill dig out some pics when i get home but so far:

1.4 MPI Crank Locking tool - M6x40mm screw with a 60 degree point filed on the end (far right in picture)

1.4 MPI Aux belt tensioner tool - Used on AC models to release or tension the Aux belt tensioner. (in my hand)

22mm Spanner - for some reason the top mount nuts Skoda supplied me were 22mm instead of the standard 21 (Far left)

21mm Spanner - for the top mount nuts on the Mk1 Fabia (Middle spanner)

Adjustable spanner, hand made in as a part of my apprenticeship (Right hand spanner, the silver one)

both spanners were made from old sockets which were welded onto a bit of metal as a handle :D I also painted the Spanners satin black, as this makes them faster

My Grandad used to be a Tool maker at Short Sunderland (Flying Boats) and ive got load of his old tools aswell :D certainly wasnt a throw away society, welded files, welded mole grips (where they had previously broken)

Another tool!

Early Mk1 Fabias had a weird Hub nut, where you couldnt use a normal socket, you essentially needed a 19mm Allen key. I didnt have one of those, so i got a bolt with a 19mm Hex head, then got two nuts and tightened them back to back, this allowed me to then put a 19mm socket over the nuts, (did the same as just having a bit of 19mm hexagonal bar) and then undo the hub nut by putting the head of the bolt into the nut.

Easiest way I found of getting the front suspension out of the hub carrier on most cars is to use a scissor jack between the hub carrier and bottom of where the spring sits.

turn the jack, gets bigger and pushes the hub carrier down, suspension slides out. easiest way i've found personally

I just LOVE these type of helpful hints and 'diy' tools, thanks and keep 'em coming.

For those awkward trim clips :p

a 6mm long socket pushed into the underside if you can get to them closes them enough to push through the adjoining body work or trim :)
