Blue tooth for Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I would like to fit a blue tooth system to my Octavia. Trouble is I don't know of anyone who has a proper Octavia kit from Skoda so I can ask the usual questions.

I need something that will come through on the car radio speakers, mute current sound etc.

Would I be better to fit a Parrot system?

Any thoughts as what is best?

Carsystems.pl do the full kit. What radio do you have?

It's the standard one fitted to the 2011 Octavia, a Bolero touch screen.

Are they difficult to fit?

Can but a Parrot system (MKi9200) from Amazon but would need it fitted.

The Skoda integrated system sounds ok'ish.

I fitted the X-Car link, easy to fit and gives BT music streaming. £130

I have the same bolero stereo and I've just had the Fiscon Plus kit installed in my car. It cost a whopping £395 fitted but I wanted something that integrated with the stereo and meant I didn't have to have an external car kit 'stuck' on the dash somewhere, which it does. As my car doesn't have the steering wheel controls or maxi dot it had to be the advanced kit which is a bit more expensive however if you do have those then the car needs to be programmed to use the kit, which apparently mine didn't need done.

The kit works very well indeed. Only gripes are if my phone is placed in front of the gear stick I get a bit of feedback on calls and the phone book search is garbage (but that could be the way I have my phone setup rather than the Fiscon). Overall very impressed with it and it works with the bolero very well.

I've got the Parrot fitted by a Parrot installer. Remote that clips on to the steering wheel or stick it wherever, mutes the stereo automatically, uses the speakers and a remote mic. Brilliant, can't fault it. Alsao got the attachement for iPod in the glove box.

About 200 fitted and guaranteed for a year.

£130 for this, fitted by myself, allows two phones to be connected, playback from your phone via BT and also iPod connectivity.

I have always had Parrot kits, but wanted a wired controller as my wife's 9100 is always having remote issues. This works brilliantly, but needed a bit of setting up to get the best from the mic as callers complained of lots of background noise. Found the right setting and chuffed now. I know it's not OEM, but does offer more and at a fraction of the price

You can get this for around £270, its the fiscon plus you'll need 9if not MFSW/maxidot). All controlled via the Bolero menus but the only bad thing is no AVRCP.

Its simple to install and works well for calls + A2DP

Can you play/pause forward on bolero when steaming music and where to best place microphone? Ive been thinking about buying this for a while now.

The mic can be routed to the OEM point or I have it on the A-Pillar, I have the Nexus Nav unit and tracks etc can be skipped using the head unit. The good thing about it is it's all hidden so no "Stick-On bIts" and you get the OEM look/feel. Also a USB input and you can keep the 6 CD changer !

Fiscon here too.  Works great via bolero touch screen, fully integrated just like OEM.

I saw them for that price on amazon but didn't fancy taking the car apart after only having had it for a few weeks so the £395 was fitted.

I don't have MFSW or the Maxidot so it is indeed the Fiscon Plus kit. The guy who fitted it plugged my car into the VCDS as he said it needed to be programmed to the car, I was under the impression that the programming was only needed if you had the maxidot and MFSW....I think he was just showing off with his fancy laptop though to be honest.

Had it a month or so now and other than the phone book search I can't fault it. Definitely better than sticking a Parrot on the dash.

I went with the OEM kit from ebay. Works really nicely and much cheaper than Fiscon IIRC

I went with the OEM bluetooth kit when I fitted it. I placed the module behind the climate controls and managed to run the microphone wire through the dash via a metal coat hanger. Fitting the mic was easy enough with a trim removal tool. From memory it was just one tick box that needed doing in VCDS for it to work. Only downside is I can't control my music playback via the Bolero, I have to skip tracks on my phone.

Sounds good. I think I will route it to the OEM if I end up buying it. the xcarlink is £139 which I think is a little over price for what it is essentially. Considering buying a aftermarket unit for 200 on ebay and get dvd, satnav and bluetooth for extra 50quid.
