Mitsumi Lightning Cable Connector available yet?!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

when I ordered my Octavia mk3, I purchased the mitsumi option, but wasnt until I tried to get a cable when I picked the car up did I find out that there wasnt a lightning cable option avaialable.

Got £100 back from the dealer, but they left the mitsumi connector in the car.

Is there a cable avaialable yet???

Thanks

They've been available from VW and Audi since about November last year.....

Yep they are available to buy from dealers now. Cannot be to sure but I think the cost is around £50. Just off the top of my head though.

Got mine off ebay for around £30 brand new.....

Had a look for you this morning. The retail on the cable is £55 from Skoda and VW.

now, the next discussion is the colour of the cable, there are 2 different colours red and green. The one you want for a bolero is the green one, it will allow the album art work to be displayed.

Yes the green allows the album art work, not sure of the other colour that one allows video to be played.... Think Neily03 has the video one I think...

Nope, mines the 30 pin one for older apple devices, but it is the red one and plays video.

Nearly right! Lol

Cost £42 .

Ouch!

That's quite of a hefty price tag for a cable.

This is the lightning connector one right? What color is the cuff of the lead and is this supporting audio album covers? What about mp4 support (video)

Thanks matey.

sorry one other question - which stereo are you using that cable 4F0 051 510 AD with?  Is it the Bolero?

Hi all,

so bit the bullet based on reviews & comments above.

I bought the Audi Dual cable kit - serial number 4F0 051 510 AF - which comes with the lightning mitsumi connector with the green sleeve and the USB mitsumi connector.

I have a Skoda 1.4 DSG SE - with a Bolero Headunit & paid the £100 for a useless mitsumi connector.  Ive now paid £45 for Audi Cables & they dont work.

When I plugged in the lightning cable I got an IPOD ERROR message on the screen.  However it did charge.  Serial Number on cable is 4F0 051 510 AD

When I plugged in the USB connector & then plugged in the lightning cable, I got no option to play media etc, but it did charge.  Serial is 4F0 051 510 AB

Ive attached pictures - hopefully it will save someone the hassle of buying the wrong cables.  In mean time, my quest continues. Dealer never calls me back & Skoda UK say that theres no option that is supported for lightning connector.
