Pay As You Go SIMs...

Featured Replies

Are there any PAYG SIM cards whose credit does not expire after 30 days?  I want one for an old Nokia phone (6310i - best mobile phone we ever had) to keep in the car but I don't want to have to top it up every month.

I have an O2 sim in an pld Nokia as well as it will not connect to my current phine . Had over a year and only topped up once

Most sadly now expire unless you have a 'legacy' plan from a few years ago.

Why not go for a cheap 30 day Sim only deal?

my wife and I both have orange pay as you go, which are never used much, we do however use it once a week to keep the number active, we have never lost any of the top up

I'm not quite sure I get this. Most sim only PAYG will operate normally without topping up.

The credit you 'lose' is only the bundle for each month.

My wife who has a three, 321 sim only PAYG, bought 6 months ago with £10 credit as a back up still has nearly £9 credit left.

So as long as you use it as a true PAYG, they don't expire, only the bundles do :)

Giffgaff allow you to top up with cash, rather than buy a "Goody Bag"; the cash doesnt expire unless you dont use the phone for 90 days. I have a small cash credit to cover overseas calls, currently has £3.66 remaining out of the £10 I put on it back at Easter.

Get a sim, but a top up in store and don't use it until needed. As in leave the top up code in the car with the phone, if it's just to have a backup.

Yeah, as 999 said, the bundles will be lost but pure credit will be alright.

Thanks for clarifying that.  The way I'd read it I thought the credit itself expired after 30 days!

I'll doubt check with my techie mate but fairly sure!

Thinking about it, I know a lad with a cheap GPS tracker with a sim card in it, he doesnt top it up very often at all, it only uses 6p credit each time he checks the location.

Three advertise top ups that have no expiry date.problem is that on PAYG, (AT LEAST) their network is not exactly giving a decent coverage.

My spare phone in the van is on a Three sim PAYG. I've had it over 18 months now with a tenner top up, and used it very occasionally and have just over £8 left.

Tesco might be worth a look.

Credit doesn't expire and if you put in £10 they put in £20. That "free" £20 does expire but after that you still have your original tenner.

I use an O2 payg sim in the fixed Audi car phone, purchased the sim 9 months ago and added £10 credit. Still works today and I've only used £4 and have 6 left.

Just leave the sim card on the default tariff and do not go buying internet or message and minute bundles and the credit will last forever.

When Vodafone first did pay as you talk I kept my first sim for about a decade and it's number sods killed my credit and number though :( (had been a LONG time) I called it a couple of years back and some fecker has it now lol :D
