a buzz

Featured Replies

This might make you laugh...or not.

A few days after getting the new car, and all had been nice and rattle-free, I suddenly notice a kind of buzz.

I thought it was from the passenger B pillar area but my passenger said to him it sounded like it was my side.

That suggested to me it was somewhere in the middle.

A light dawned. A day before I'd received the Skoda Assist AA card and had placed it in the small overhead compartment.

I took the card out and the buzz (of course) disappeared!! The card now lives in my wallet along  with the other 600 assorted blinking cards !!

There was an almost identical post a week ago but this time the offending item was a pair of glasses... :D

That was me, Sunglasses in the holder in the head lining, Took an age to find, when I was driving it sounded like it was on the passenger side, when the wife sat there she said it was the drivers side,

Best thing then is to have absolutely NOTHING in the car, except for a driver, maybe a passenger (without the handbag/rucksack, etc.) and even possibly a kid, but then no toys and certainly no childseat, since than one rattles in my car and drives me mad (when the kid is not in the seat).

But what are we gonna do with all the space in the octy then?

answers on a postcard to...

back on topic though. It's always astonishing how those little things tend to make the biggest noise, as I said for me it is/was the childseat, or that little bag with coins I keep in the glove-box to have enough change for parking meters, or pens, etc.

Funny how there are noises and "noises".

We all love the roar of the engine when we blast past that slow lumbering BMW, we stick on music CDs that would make Mozart turn in his grave,

and (some of us) spend hours listening to some garbage coming over a mobile phone.

But a tiny little rattle or squeak in our beloved motor car and we tear out our hair to find and eliminate it.

Human beings are strange folk!!

Hmmmm.... I had a rattle from the boot recently, when I stopped and looked I found my work was the cause!

You need a truck...................

Take a look at your wife's post then you'll know why posties have trucks. Between the junk mail and the internet shopping women account for 95% of the items we deliver

You still haven't picked up that laggy band yet   :giggle:

No, I meant a truck as in something like a Peterbilt...........................

Had a similar buzz develop in mine also, after reading this thread I gave my sunglass a knock and cured the issue!

Lots of hard plastics in the O3, I find the door bins are one of the worst culprits.

Ive not had a car for several years that hasnt over time developed some rattles/knocks/strange noises. Id rather live with most of them than go to a main dealer, let one of their techs strip it down (and likely damaging trim ot not putting it back in properly) and still having a rattle....or new ones introduced.

A 100k Bentley id probably be bothered a bit more about but a 23k Skoda...not so much.

I've heard owners say they just turn the music up !!!

I'd just stick some of those felt stickers (not sure if that's the proper english name for it, basically the stickers that you put under the legs of chairs to avoid damaging the wooden floors) where the two plastics meet. I would be worried that annoying my dealer with stuff like that he won't be much inclined to care for any important problems.

But I agree about the difference between this and a car that costs 4 times as much.

Thank you, you spared me a lot of trouble

I did the same thing. Felt really stupid when my girlfriend politely (and rather smuggly) pointed out the noise would be my sunglasses  in the holder.

I've had the same buzz..............sounds like its coming from the NS A pillar but is actually from the overhead locker........buzzes when I put my sunglasses in there arms downwards(?)
