smoke all over the rear mapped up!

Featured Replies

finally cured my smoke all over my boot lid and bumper (done my head in) tail pipe was cut off and a pipe has been welding inside it facing at the ground so tailpipe is just for show now so no more dirty rear end pictures to follow soon as i got a ramp free

Does it look as crappy as the Freelander 2's fake tailpipe? :P

no it looks like a blueflame backbox and its clean :)

So a bit like some I've seen like the Land Rover Freelander:

Good idea that. It would annoy me having to clean the soot off the back all the time too!

Luckily my exhaust chucks the soot onto the tarmac anyway:

Thank god for that

I think this would look good with the bumper cut out covered over, just like on a Clio 172.

sent from my Galaxy Note 3

You should've waited until John's got his hands on it! Mine smokes hardly at all now with the GTB - so much cleaner than the old hybrid you wouldn't believe!

what power figures you pushing as ive had headwork done and uprated cams im looking for 300bhp

What's it look like from underneath out of curiousity?  You can claim you have a Bentley Continental Flying Spur exhaust now.  I noticed when polishing up one it also had fake exhaust tailpipe trims :D

Ah yes you may have a point about the white!! Although I think you'd be very surprised just how little smoke a decent map will give you.

Not sure on power yet. John and I are still mapping & logging. It's an ongoing iterative process! John's going to see what the maximum he can get out of the standard injectors is. I'm at 2.2bar at the minute - John said he's going to try for more soon.

Injectors will follow next year sometime. I may invest in a diff first - not too much point in more power if you can't put it down.

pictures tomorrow m8 to dark now you'd never know it had been modified

Definitely agree about the diff - went out in Kev's and was very impressed how it gripped and pulled the car into the corner. Mine would be going the opposite way!! It's 100% on my list, but it's not a cheap mod and is not really on the cards at the moment. I've spent far too much on it the last 3 months as it is!

You'll need to run more than 2.4bar to hit 300bhp I imagine. More like 2.7 at a guess...

Lol. I don't mind it... it lets the exhaust gasses out... which is a back box's job. I keep it looking shiny too. I see a lot of MK2 Octavias with completely black/rusty tips sticking out. Now that's depressing!

NO MORE DIRTY ARSE END! :)

That's really tidy, I approve

Wow. That's a really tidy job. The tail pipe completely hides it.

Bet you're well chuffed!
