Contact Pictures...

Featured Replies

Can you get your contact photos off your phone to your maxi-dot & head unit when you make calls or receive them ???..

Thanks..

I have columbus. It imported all the contact pictures when I paired my phone. It won't display the pics on Maxidot.

Head unit yes, maxi-dot no I believe.

Not on the infortainment if you have an iphone.

As above, contact pictures displayed in Columbus/Amunsden but not in Maxi-dot.

Maxi-dot just displays the name and number.

I believe the contact picture sync is quite dependant on your phone (and the bluetooth stack version it is using)

I think from memory the Samsungs worked, iPhone up to iOS7 were not working nor were Nexus4 (but maybe Nexus5 was OK?)

My advice, is try before you buy at the dealership to make sure the headunit & phone you have is compatible.

Used to work on my Bolero with SGS3 but iPhone is a no-no. It's no big loss because you still see the names and numbers for who is calling.

on my bolero yes not on the maxidot or not in mine any whey

My work BlackBerry imports photos onto the Columbus screen. My own iPhone 6 won't though.

I may be wrong but I think the bluetooth stack is part of the operating system (so would need an update from apple).

In the other threads about this, users of the google Nexus 4 were having to flash a custom ROM to enable contact pictures.

You can see the compatability list of which functions work with which phones on the Skoda website:

I remember reading that it won't work on the iPhone via bluetooth, but it does if you use a cable. Can anyone confirm of deny this?

iPhone and nexus devices don't seem to support the pics, any other android does so without issue. And I swap phones almost monthly!

Nokia Lumia on Bluetooth v4.0 works flawless.

LG G3 and SGS3 works fine.

Sent using Tapatalk

Oneplus One syncs fine too. All pictures displayed on Columbus.

Been told Nexus 5 doesn't on early models, anyone able to prove this wrong.....

Not all contact pics display on amundsen using sony experia e1. Would like to know how to get them to display, if anyone can help.

My nexus 5, only bought in November 2014, doesn't import pictures, nor did my HTC One X, or my Dad's Motorola Moto E. I use an app, which I purchased called Bluetooth Phonebook. Works like a charm to get pics on to the car and works on Android 5 too

Thanks djkarlos. The app works like a charm between my Nexus 5 and early 2014 Bolero. I decided to reinstall contacts on my radio,(not sure if you have to). But I did need to remove the favorites and put them back in again to get the pictures on that part. I went straight for the pay one. Its so cheap. Thanks again.

No need to root?

And, how is the picture quality?

I hear you. Have the car 3 months and this bothers me daily, iPhone 5s and never been able to get the contact photos over. Nor album art etc for Bluetooth playback. Seems like it's all pain in the backside implementations, as iOS and newer iPhones support both PBAP and AVRCP 1.4 - see http://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT3647.

iPhones don't do rSAP - some people have mentioned on here that they've found this works, but I don't have anything compatible to try it with

Quick bit of further info: I just checked Bolero manual and it only lists A2DP and AVRCP 1.0 - 1.3
