Roomster Anti-Hijack Etc

Featured Replies

OK, so this might have done before (I found a thread from 2008 but am not sure whether it's still valid) but can anyone tell me what settings I can get changed on my Roomster? It's a 2014 1.2tsi. The dealer said it had anti-hijack when we picked it up but it doesn't. I'd like to get that switched on, and also see what else I could alter.

Is there a simple, definitive list, and what would I need to switch things on and off?

Thanks

Is it really that wild in Somerset? Hi-jacking is pretty rare around here.

Vcds on a laptop will enable you to do things, You'll need an interface cable too.

My wife uses the car mostly and drives into Bristol a lot. It's just a bit more reassuring knowing that someone can't pinch her bag at the traffic lights.

She took the Roomster in for its service on Friday and asked them to activate it, which they did for no charge.

Hi Mr Paul,

Anti hi-jack is a new one on me, What does it do?

Edit, Just thought, is it auto door locking?

Yeah, it locks the doors when you start moving.

Yeah, it locks the doors when you start moving.

Not much good if you're stopped then, which is when someone is likely to open a door and nick anything.

When you first unlock the car, only the driver's door unlocks.  Wouldn't it be easier to press the button on the centre console and lock all the doors?

They lock when you start moving and then stay locked - even after you stop, depending on what coding you have done, it is possible to have them unlock when the key is removed from the ignition.

Oh I see, I thought that they would unlock when you stop.

Thanks for the clarification.

Changed mine to unlock all with one press. It drove wife mad when It only unlocked drivers, especially if raining.

With ours, when you stop one pull on the driver's door handle unlocks and opens it. Two pulls on any passenger handle unlocks them all.

I had it done by an independent while he was fitting my towbar. I looked over his shoulder but can't remember the exact sequence. This was before I bought VCDS innterface myself. I do remember it was not obvious but very simple when you realise where it's hiding. Sorry I can't be more help but if you can find someone near you that has VCDS it should only take a minute or 2.

Many thanks will make some urgent enquiries into it...Even if you have to pay it will be well worth it....Daft idea as it is at present..Many thanks
